In social networks like Instagram, Facebook, or even Tumblr, your information should not be shared. There are dangerous people out there who will use what they can find about you against you. Things like your full name, the city you live in, your address, phone number, or even places you frequently go to should not be posted online. Check the websites you go to.
Shortly ago news were spread by several friends I know that a group of sickos are organizing a massive abduction at a national level in Chile, planning to kidnap young women. It has been said that there is a website that tracks people's IP addresses, as well as they try to gather information from their Instagram and Facebook accounts. This massive act is said to take place during the first week of March, in the 5th which is the date most students are going back to school.
Although I cannot be sure how true all of this iformation is (even though everyone insists that it is real). I ask you to protect the information you have shared. DO NOT sync your accounts to Facebook. Avoid posting selfies or your location. Make your instagram account private and block whoever is following you that seems suspicious. Change your usernanes, use generic pictures for your profile picture.
I don't care where you live. Your privacy and safety is important regardless of where you're from.
So PLEASE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY.
