Sacrifice of Abdullah.
After Abdul-Mutalib was granted many sons, he remembered the vow he gave. He gathered his sons and sorrowfully told them of the situation. Each of his sons didn't know what to say, and the first to respond was Abdullah, who was the youngest among them all. He reassured his father, and that him and his brothers are pleased with the rule of God. Abdul-Mutalib wept at the eloquent response of his son, and informed his sons to go home and bid their mothers farewell. The next morning, Abdul-Mutalib wrote each of their names in a draw to see which one he should sacrifice. A man took all his sons in the Kaaba, and after a while, he came out holding Abdullah and informed him he was the one that was picked. Abdul-Mutalib lost consciousness upon hearing the news; all his brothers left the Kaaba weeping, and no one was crying more than Abu Taleb as he loved Abdullah the most. They were extremely close, and never left each other's side once. When Abdul-Mutalib regained consciousness and found all the Meccans weeping, he took his dagger and wanted to end the situation. The heads of Quraysh stopped him, but Abdul-Mutalib scolded them and said no one is more compassionate than himself towards his son, but he must fulfill the orders of the Lord. In the meantime, all the angels went to God asking for an alternative, but God informed them it was all a test to see the extent of Abdul-Mutalib's patience. When Abdul-Mutalib was getting ready to sacrifice his son, his maternal uncles came and wouldn't allow Abdul-Mutalib to do anything and there was a lot of commotion. A man named Ikrima ibn Amir, who was a wise man, suggested putting the draw between Abdullah and 10 camels; if the draw resulted in Abdullah, they'd add 10 more. They'd keep adding 10 if the draw resulted in Abdullah until the camels reach 100. If the result was Abdullah after 100 camels were put in the draw, then Abdullah would be sacrificed. If the camels were the result before they put 100, the camels would be slaughtered.
So Abdul-Mutalib first put 10 camels and Abdullah's name, but the result came back as Abdullah. The result kept being Abdullah until Abdul-Mutalib put 100 camels and Abdullah's name. This time, the camels were the result. All of Mecca celebrated, but Abdul-Mutalib insisted on repeating the draw just to be sure. He repeated it 3 times, and the results came back to the camels. At that point, Abdullah's mother took him in and began to kiss and embrace him. All of Mecca celebrated, and Abdul-Mutalib ordered for the camels to be slaughtered and cooked and fed to everyone in the city, including the animals. The enemies had hoped for Abdullah to be slaughtered, so after Abdul-Mutalib was offered that alternative, they prepared to assassinate Abdullah. They prepared a food and poisoned it, and gifted it to Fatima, Abdullah's mother. When Abdul-Mutalib asked about the food, the food began to speak, saying: "don't eat from me, I am laced with poison". That was among the many miracles of Abdullah. It was that incident which gave The Holy Prophet the title of: The Son of the Two Sacrificed one's. Whenever Abu Taleb saw the Prophet, he used to say: "May I be sacrificed for the Son of the Two Sacrificed ones: Ismail and Abdullah". (Bihar al-Anwar, volume 15, pages 79-90).
