The greatest warrior in history, Imam Ali (AS) never lost a battle, yet he never claimed victory in his entire life except once; At his martyrdom, the moment the sword was struck on his head in prayer, as he calls out;

“By the Lord of the Kaaba, I have succeeded.”

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ ٱللَّهِ

Peace be upon you O’ Aba ‘Abdullah,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّ

Peace be upon you O’ grandson of the Messenger of Allah,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱبْنَ سَيِّدِ ٱلْوَصِيِّينَ

Peace be upon you O’ son of the Commander of the Faithful and the son of the Leader of the Inheritors (of the Prophet),

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

Peace be upon you O’ son of Fatimah, the Leader of all the Women of the Worlds

اعلیٰ رتبے میں ہر بشر سے پایا

افضل انہیں خضر راہ بر سے پایا

یہ در جو نہ ملتا تو بھٹکتے پھرتے

جنت کا پتا علی کے گھر سے پایا

aala rutbe men har bashar se paaya

afzal unhen khizr-e-rahbar se paaya

ye dar jo na milta to bhaTakte phirte

jannat ka pata ali ke ghar se paaya
