We are the brisk cold water in an early swim That feeling of unease when we can’t see the bottom Our feet skim the frigid darkness beneath us We keep swimming, no matter what haunts them The slimy seaweed against your skin It cannot repulse our happiness The current will push it on its way And may we revel in friendly splashes We d i v e in countless times over Together, we plummet into the unknown No breath No life Temporarily gone No reason to ever find a home Emerging from the frozen depths, I return to your sure arms I promise to keep you from the dark that wishes to cause us harm Wrap ourselves around each other, and float on through this realm Find my home between your lips, and never leave your spell
