I know this is for ~exposition~ and all but wouldn’t it be annoying if every time the mayor enters a room he reminds everyone that “I am the mayor of this town”

I’m ready for Patti LuPone’s Twitter to be absolutely fucking wild. This is the equivalent of giving that bitch a sword.
some of you never had an intense hyperfixation over a musical that you memorized every lyrics on the cast album, every dialogue on the libretto, and every tune, melody, and harmony in the soundtrack that you can recognize it in a millisecond and it shows

Robert: Who will I take care of? Joanne: Well, did you hear yourself? Did you hear what you just said, kiddo? Robert: I didn’t mean that. Joanne: I just heard a door open that’s been stuck for a long time. Robert: Like I had a l– Larry: The check is paid. What’s wrong? Robert: Because I have looked at that. Marriage isn’t all that, and what do you get for it? What do you get? Larry: What happened? Joanne:
a lot of people complain about the accessibility of theatre and i one hundred percent agree. it’s hard to see the live shows you always want when tickets are so expensive and they are broadway shows.
but please please please IF you can, support your local community theatre/ high school theatre productions. they might not be putting on your favorite pop rock musical but you’d be surprised: you might find yourself falling in love with a more classic or less popular show. they will not always be the most polished, but keep in mind that smaller productions put in a LOT of work to put on the best show they possibly can. these shows are inexpensive to see and seeing them shows local support of the arts.
so please, support the performing arts in your town if you can. it’s something fun and inexpensive to do with your fellow theatre loving friends, or perhaps a family outing or date. while you lament that you can’t afford to see your favorite musical on broadway, maybe just take the time to buy a ten or fifteen-dollar ticket to a local production. these are the kind of small steps we as art consumers and artists need to make theatre more accessible.
due to personal reasons, i will be singing a whole 2 hour musical by myself
if you run a musical theatre blog you have to have seen this video. it’s the law.
