Ibtisam has 7 children and her daughter Nour has a heart condition and recently got infected with hepatitis A virus. Her husband has been killed. Her eldest son was also killed in the genocide in November 2023. Another of her sons is injured from the same bomb that killed his brother; his eardrums were punctured and the tendons in his foot and hand were cut.
