There was one last round of bicycle repairs before I departed #Abengourou and #IvoryCoast. Spoke-related, of course. On my way out of town I pestered the mechanic until he found a way to remove the rear cassette and completely rebuild the wheel: new spokes and repacked bearings. Took a while, but the whole process--including the new spokes--cost about $6.00US. I had rice with stewed beef while waiting for a fresh-brewed pot of Moroccan #tea from the tea stall directly behind. Had a minor mechanical setback before reaching #Abengourou and crossing into #Ghana: broken spokes. AGAIN! Grrrrrr. Arrived here on Sunday with everything closed, so had to spend all day Monday (April Fools) running around looking for the right mechanic and a new set of spokes so I can have the whole rear wheel rebuilt. No luck until late in the day, when I found this shop.
