While most of their classmates have taken to the usual Halloween costumes, Usoa and Abga went for a more personal route with Usoa taking up a Komuso outfit and Abga dressing as Caucasus deity of the hunt Avsati
Usoa Kaikuegi was born deaf-mute in the Commercial Quarter of Makina-Hiria spending her life in hospital care as her parents gave her up upon learning of her disability. She was highly sheltered and the only human contact she had was with doctors and nurses as she was often unable to communicate with other kids in the hospital, not to mention she was the only patient there long term leaving her largely isolated and dreaming of being outside. Her life became monotonous and boring going through the motions of tests, checkups, tutors, and meaningless free periods with no one to spend them with as her only comfort became getting lost in her daydreams of the wide world and most importantly: dreams of sound. After years being locked in her hospital room she finally had enough and snuck out to the bright and vibrant quarter of the city that had been just under her nose all this time. She visited Syndicate Square, Rave Park, the Luminous Strip, the beach and more in absolute wonder. She imagined what everything would sound like barely able to contain her joy for finally seeing the world only to have it shot down in an instant. In her endless daydreams and joy she failed to see the danger of being out without supervision and unable to hear it coming, she was hit by a bus...
The subsequent return to the hospital put the facility under great scrutiny and media coverage until a representative of cybernetics firm Neo-Industrial and Intelligent Systems, or NiiS, arrived initially offering experimental treatments via sound vibrations to promote the healing process. The acoustical technology also extended to using precise sound frequencies to better assist her nervous system's communication within her mangled body and while nowhere near able to walk or even move that much, she was making impressive progress. As the media began to ease up on the hospital following Usoa's improved condition, and with some background string pulling from NiiS, the hospital was able to come out clean and wanting to avoid any additional PR issues they barely hesitated to hand over the girl when NiiS indicated they wanted to continue tests at their own facilities. Under the veil of their own discretion NiiS conducted a great many experiments on Usoa amputating her broken limbs and replacing them with advanced prosthetics that more than compensated and, more importantly to her, they also gave her both a voice and new ears. Using augments in her ears, vocal chords, hippocampus, and brocal area, Usoa was ecstatic to be able to hear the world for the first time and with speech therapy was quick to put her feelings into words falling in love with her own voice paying little mind to her new cybernetic limbs caring only for the acoustical world around her. A network of high frequency nodes were implanted across her organic body meeting with resonators in her new limbs that functioned to amplify her nervous system's responsiveness far beyond the average person which when paired with her full control over her impressive new auditory augments gives her a super human sense of sound. In order to fully observe her new augments and prosthesis Usoa was allowed a normal life going out, attending school, and having relative freedom with one catch: to serve the company as a means to pay off the debt of fixing her broken body and disability. Seeing little as important other than her new ears she accepted and is tutored heavily in physics and acoustical engineering and allowed to mingle with a young man in a similar situation as he concocted a variety of often toxic chemicals while she developed all manners of sound based technologies from personal environmental noise cancellers to ultra low frequency sound generators of impressive destructive power. Together under the names of Resonance and Oxide they work for NiiS often serving as corporate spies or saboteurs but occasionally partaking in more common theft of private galleries auctions which they attend to with professional efficiency despite their young age.
Known only as Abga, the future NiiS operative was first a child soldier in his home country engulfed in civil conflict in Eastern Europe. Abrskil's village was destroyed and with it his past was left behind as he was taken in by militia fighters who initially intended to drop him with an NGO, but after international groups evacuated they were forced to keep the child. He invariably began to tinker and take up munitions fixating particularly on explosives finding comfort and ease with the embers and smoke as he entered his adolescence and the conflict essentially gave him a vent for his deep anger. He learned to shoot and coordinate with the other men and his specialty in explosives alongside his age made him an excellent saboteur and spy. The war took it's tole however and Abga had suffered a great many wounds with his body cut up and bruised from the blunt force trauma of nearby bombs along with a handful of bullet wounds left with minimal treatment as his comrades fell short of supplies.
His life took a turn when the enemy started to unleash chemical agents and wearing only clothes and rags he came out horribly affected following the subsequent conflicts that resulted in his burned skin and crippled organs and, in his excruciating pain, he ran. He fled his home and went west hoping to find solace but found only poverty forced to beg on the street for food and money. While in Poland he was begging on a street corner in a business centre when a man in a suit saw him and treated the beaten kid to a nice meal inquiring to his story and seeing opportunity; the business man made an offer to fix the boys broken body. The man was Ekaitz Fano, division head of prostheses in the prominent tech company Neo-Industrial and Intelligent Systems. Essentially being adopted by Fano, Abga soon submitted himself to intensive cybernetic augmentation including the replacement of his feet, ankles, and one of his arms with cybernetics as well as having the majority of his crippled internal organs removed to make way for synthetic systems to mend the intense damage the chemical weapons had done to him. His respiratory system in particular was still severely damaged even after the surgery and thus the NiiS scientists implanted a complex gaseous organ in his abdominal cavity that assists in his breathing via unique chemical treatment. The modifications to his body gave Abga a second chance at life and under NiiS' observations he was allowed to be "normal" yet there was a condition: some of the augments he received were of a militant nature and his former life as a soldier was never tapped out instead being promoted by the researchers for his various assignments he undertakes so as to pay off his debt for Ekaitz rescuing him. Possessing a submachine gun in his left arm and fully in control of his chemical systems, Abga uses a myriad of chemical weapons and smoke grenades filled with chemical agents of his concoction which he can produce from his own body. Alongside his acoustically inclined partner Resonance, he does a slew of corporate espionage jobs for NiiS while living dually as a student at the Zaldun Akademia trying to keep he and his partner from revealing anything outside their cover stories.
