greta’s nose was pink, bitten softly by a gentle chill in the air. she let herself peer back at the small fire she’d kindled, flames licking frozen air with the remnants of dead sea salt and an old sigil she’d dug up from the bottom of a desk drawer. a smile stretched across her face as bo nestled a little deeper into her hair, jay and olaf snugly situated in the pockets of a hand-knitted cardigan that hung from her frame. greta stood against the railing of the astronomy tower, a tin of cupcakes placed softly just inside the arch and penzance situated on the metal. stars crowded the night sky, soft and pleading, edging close to each other and pulsating gently. the puffskeins let out quiet squeaks to alert her of someone’s presence, and she turned to see the stars replaced in the freckles of abi’s face. she looked quiet and graceful doused in moonlight, skin dewy and eyes wide. her smile grew.
“am i early or are you just late?” she asked, walking a bit further inwards and leaning in an archway.
