I just read book of love. The last scene with Abby and her daddy. Really got me. How you capture depression and anxiety really speaks to me. I just want more Abby and family so bad. I am also reading darkness on the edge of town, please tell me we get more Abby! Now, my question! What do you see Abby looking like now that she is older? Love love your writing so much!

I picture Abby taking after Oliver, mostly. It’s hard to cast a particular celebrity as her lookalike, because no one is exactly who I see in my head. Lily James comes close.

I swear last observation: I love how terry was willing to let Abby just lounge on what is probably his spot on the sofa and take the small loveseat and scrounge up. It’s adorable and kind.

You try rousting that girl from a comfy spot on the sofa. Easier to pry off lug nuts.

Thanks for updating so soon! You rock Ash! I'm so glad Jon is okay. (You had us worried there for a bit.) I can imagine what Felicity went through. Heres my question. Does Terry really think Tish listens to everything Jon says? Has the "backbone of steel and will not hesitate to yell right back" tendency completely slipped the Bat's notice? Did Abby sneak a couple of mins to ask Dad, dude whats up with the increasing text frequency?

Much as Terry respects Tish’s bravery in other ways, he actually hasn’t seen her give Jon vocal pushback. It’s not her style to argue with an audience, and Terry has no idea that calling Jon “sweetie” is her code word for, “I am not kidding and we are going to talk about this later.

Abby did not ask Dad, no. Perhaps he really is just feeling sentimental, and she doesn’t want to make him self-conscious about that.

Can you write a one shot of Abby reuniting with Felicity after she was taken? What was Abby’s reaction when she first saw her mom, how did she act the rest of that day and the days to follow, etc! Would really appreciate it, I’m big fan of this world and family you’ve created! Felicity and Abby’s relationship is one of my favs

You mean in the very first story, at the end?

I actually did write that reunion in the first draft, way back when. Somehow it didn’t seem to fit. In The Man Under the Hood, I tried to touch on those first few weeks of aftermath. I’m thinking Abby stuck pretty close to Mom, especially while she was still having such vivid nightmares.

I’ve got an intimidating amount of editing to do to the upcoming chapters, so I don’t think I’ll get to this scene any time soon. But I truly appreciate the kind feedback! I love knowing what y’all are curious about. Sometimes the answers make it into fic.

How does Abby find the confidence to be a theatre kid? As someone who has bad anxiety myself, I'm too scared to even talk in big groups.

Abby:

Oh, but it’s not me talking!

That’s the beauty of it. I can be a horrible loudmouth or an entitled bitch. I can say and do all the wrong things -  things I’m terrified I might do by accident, for real - and the audience sometimes gasps out loud at how awful I am. It’s almost like I’ve actually done the scary thing.

But only almost. Because in the end, it’s not me.

It’s kind of like my sweet, non-confrontational friend who’s always turning the other cheek to rude jerks, but who breathes fire if someone looks wrong at his girlfriend. If it’s on someone else’s behalf, it feels different.

"Abby is cuddled up on the sofa with Ace, and Matt McGinnis has pulled up a chair to share a plate of tiny sandwiches with her. Tish is nursing a drink at the other end of the sofa, watching them with a thoughtful expression." IS TISH GOING TO DO SOME MATCHMAKING.

Tish is going to do some noticing, is all.

Everyone is a bit overeager to matchmake for Abby. None of them were huge fans of the last guy she picked for herself.

Does Sara have favorite memories of Jonny or Abby from her rare visits home?

Sara:

I wouldn’t call it a favorite memory, but there’s one that stands out.

At the end of a visit, I was about to catch a flight out of Starling. Oliver called for Abby to come say goodbye to me, and there was no response. We couldn’t find her anywhere. We turned the house upside down, yelling her name.

You can imagine what was going through our heads. Oliver called up Panoptic and put that whole machine into motion. We were on the verge of calling SCPD.

I finally found her asleep in the back garden, in a little gap in the ligustrums. I could’ve been gentler, grabbing her up and carrying her inside.

It was such a normal thing to panic over. I think that’s why I still remember the feeling so well. The relief was so normal, and so was her complaining about how I was squeezing too hard.

Also Ash, Where do Oliver and Felicity take Abby in TMUTH while John is recovering from drowning? After he tells her about Arrowing. (“Abigail,” Dad says, and she startles. “Why don’t you come with us? There’s something you should see.”)

That was Mom and Dad introducing her to the lair. Nothing would be quite as convincing as the green leather on the mannequin down there, or the bows and arrows, or the old computer equipment.

Besides, Jonny got to see. Only fair.
