We have a Prine of Sand who will not. Stop. EATING. SAND.
He's not even a good Sand player, he's terrible at lying. I've caught him eating it tons of times. His mouth is always bleeding. He denys that he's doing it, and acts offended that we'd imply that he would.
I guess I should just ignore it, he's not hurting anyone but himself and I guess he probably won't die from it.
I just had to complain. I just had to share this.
...Okay, one of my coplayers was reading this over my shoulder as I wrote it and wants me to ask if there actually are any benifits to eating your aspect. The answer is no, right. Please say it's no.
I'm pretty sure Doom players can eat straight-up poison, like mixing everything they found under the kitchen sink into a cocktail. Fun fact, when GodsGiftToGrinds reported that one of his Doom coplayers did that, a bunch of other Doom players who read that decided to do the same thing just to make sure they could (they could). It's not really common though, and this is the first time I've heard of a Sand player eating sand.
In any case, there are indeed no benefits to eating your aspect. Some people act like weirdos, like the Heart player beginning every fight with "I WILL EAT YOUR HEART" or "I WILL EAT YOUR SOUL", Light players joking about unlocking the ability to do metamorphosis, or Blood players going full chuuni and pretending to be vampires (a very funny thing to do considering that there are indeed actual vampires playing SBURB). But those are just weird jokes. I'm guessing the Doom players do it because they can, and maybe that stuff tastes good? (lawyer's note: do not try this) But the Sand player's mouth bleeding implies no, he's not even immune to it.
Hypothesis 1: He's trying to live up to his Title, Prince of Sand. "One who destroys with or destroys the Aspect of Sand". But he's doing it really ineptly because he's trying to destroy literal sand by eating it.
Hypothesis 2: he lovs the cronch
Additional Note: This is probably a weird harmless quirk, but only if he's eating actual sand. If he's eating sand conjured by his aspect, AKA magic sand imbued with the quality of fragmentation, then you might want to stop him (or at least tell him not to eat magic sand) before he bites down and decapitates himself or something.
