Kevin Smith really has a lot of nerve to tackle such a touchy and controversial subject and I applaud him for it. Had normal Hollywood made this film then the members of the church most likely would've been represented as inbred, southern, hick-type people that seem to be the Hollywood standard of crazy. This is not a horror film, but it registers on the psyche as something that is quite horrifically real.
