Public Service Announcement: When someone says “I don’t care” (Or “you assume I care” in this case) they are actually saying “I am an asshole and I want to make society as a whole a worse place as long as I don’t have have to be slightly inconvenienced by monitoring my speech, which I never learned to do as a kid because my mother didn’t love me”. Assholes make society worst (in this case they make autistic people and those with with other mental disabilities feel unwelcome, which is especially ironic considering if it wasn’t for autism there probably wouldn’t even be a thriving Friendship is Magic fandom in the first place), so it is your civic duty to make assholes care (or at least act like they do), or to remove them from society (that’s why we have a thing called laws). The only way to make assholes care is to hit them were it hurts, and this particular asshole seems to take a lot of pride in his youtube channel and subscriber base *hint hint*.
Also, when this asshole says “Internet banter appears to be beyond your comprehension”, he is actually saying “why autistic people get offended when I use autistic as an insult is beyond my comprehension” because the dumbass thinks the issue is that it’s mean to imply that someone is actually retarded, not that it’s implying autistic people are inferior and can’t understand copyright law. So sad that he could have avoided all of this by just apologizing and considering to follow the polite request instead of feeling he had to protect his fragile masculinity by insisting he is always right and acting like not caring is somehow a good thing.
If you’re interested in further advocacy, consider looking at the Spread the Word to End the Word campaign, or blog using the hashtag AbleistAssholes, to spread the message that ableism is for assholes.
