Hey Mga Friends and Kasamas, Warm and militant greetings! We are slowly approaching the day of N30. What does this mean?
As youth in the movement, we celebrate a lot on this day. November 30 (N30) is the day of: - ANDRES BONIFACIO'S birth: a hero of the Philippine Revolution of 1896 who led the Katipunan's revolutionary armed resistance that kicked out Spanish colonizers - the founding of KABATAANG MAKABAYAN (KM): "Patriotic Youth" the first comprehensive national democratic youth organization that formed in response to ongoing crisis against imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat capitalism, fought the Marcos regime and went underground to serve the armed revolution. KM serves as Anakbayan's inspiration to uphold the revolutionary tradition of Filipino youth. - The founding of ANAKBAYAN and its chapters all over the world committed to serving the people by educating, organizing and mobilizing Filipino people to join the struggle for national liberation and democracy in the Philippines.
Here in New York City, we celebrate the 11th anniversary of Anakbayan New York, continuingto show the importance of Filipino American youth in the national democratic struggle of the Philippines.
As a friendly and revolutionary reminder, Anakbayan New York will be celebrating our N30 on December 3, 2016. We will ensure to provide updates on time, location and program for the day of as well as other events building up to this celebration.
