My boyfriend had a thought about gender, sex, and the future, and I wanted to get you guys' opinions.
He hopes that one day sex and gender will be completely different in everyone's minds.
Basically "female" and "male" will referr to someone's genitalia at birth, and are only used to determine the best way to treat a person medically, and terms like "woman" and "man" referr to a person's gender. (Of course there are more genders than woman and man, but he's a "cishet" (cisbi, really) guy who only knows even the smallest bit about the LGBT community because of me.
Like if someone is a male woman, the doctor would know to look for prostate cancer and breast cancer if she has had top surgery, and if someone is a female man, the doctor will know to look for ovarian cysts if he is having pain there, but other than it just stating what genitalia someone was born with, it doesn't really matter to anyone.
Does this make any sense or am I wording it weird?
