Understanding the Ukrainian Crisis for Dummies

The US (ie the Obama administration and then-VP Biden) overthrew Ukraine's elected government in a 2014 coup.  Later in 2014, the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts (regions) held referenda.  The results found that 2,252,867 voted in favor of self-rule (leaving Ukraine), with 256,040 against (staying with Ukraine), on a turnout of nearly 75%.  NATO then fueled an 8-year civil war that killed 14,000 Ukrainians in these regions.  The Ukrainian military includes such fascists as the Azov Battalion.  On February 24, 2022, Russia began a campaign to de-Nazify the Donbass regions and bring to an end the 8-year NATO-backed fascist war against the Donbass region.

This is the same NATO which welcomed fascist Portugal into its membership. This is the same NATO that just ended a 20-year occupation of Afghanistan and left the Afghan people to starve to death. This is the same NATO that illegally overthrew the Libyan government. Thanks to NATO, Libya still has no central government and Black Africans are sold openly in slave markets. Thanks, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

If you support self-determination and autonomy, you must support the workers of Donetsk and Lunhansk and their 8-year resistance to Ukrainian fascists. If they welcome the Russian military that is rescuing them from fascist attacks while white American lefties pontificate from 2000 miles away, SO BE IT.

If you oppose white supremacy, you must oppose the western capitalist countries' white supremacy enforcer, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Oppose today's wars and tomorrow's wars by ABOLISHING NATO.

If you oppose Russia's invasion but don't oppose US and NATO aggression, you are not actually anti-war.  You're just a fucking Democrat.
