I love you blog, and I happy there are people who ship heronchild. On internet some part of the fandom attack us for shipping them, saying we make everything gay and etc., but us shippers - we see something really interesting in heronchild's relationship than make us devoted to it, so thank you for what you are doing! Do you know any books similar to tsc books?
Thank you so much for the love, dear!
Unfortunately, some people in this fandom seem to have forgotten fandoms and shipping exist for people to have fun and create things that make them happy and they prefer to spread hate and attack others instead, which is very sad. Thankfully, they are a small minority. The best thing to do is to unfollow/block them and ignore them and instead surround yourself with people that enjoy the same things as you and spread love!
Shipping is just that: enjoying a relationship between two characters and wanting to explore it more in all possible ways. James and Matthew share a close, important bond and that’s undeniable, they draw us in and make us curious and happy. Enjoying them as a couple doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate their friendship, it just means we like to explore what would happen if their friendship evolved into romance as well. As long as we don’t attack other people or harass Cassie over it we aren’t doing anything wrong, so don’t let people upset you and just ship away.
This blog has many many followers so we can promise you you are not alone and we are definitely not going anywhere!
As for books… I’m really not the best person to ask. >_< Lately, the only thing I have been making time to read are the Ghosts of the Shadow Market stories and I am very outdated on what books are popular or new, but let’s see:
I really liked the All For the Game series, by Nora Sakavic, though it’s really nothing like TSC. Other series that seem to be very popular right now are The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and I have been meaning to check them out.
Cassie herself has another series of books called Magisterium that is co-written with her friend Holly Black so I think they are definitely worth checking out! And speaking of Holly Black her books are also about magical creatures, specially fairies, and her latest series The Cruel Prince seems to be making success as well.
Oh and if you like Heronchild I think you should definitely read The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, by Mackenzi Lee. It’s about a blonde bi disaster boy in love with his best friend and when they go away to travel around Europe they end up in a lot of trouble, piss off people in at least 3 different countries and end up having to find the key to immortality(?) and between all that there’s a lot of pinning and Feelings TM. It’s great!
