Tidum Jonas is a super hero character I created a while ago. He has the ability to alter his physical form between solidifying and liquiying- for example, he could punch someone out by making his fist almost as hard as a rock, or slip through a small space by making himself more malleable.
Anyway, I wanted to express my support for the BLM movement in the best way I know how- art- and I thought an image of a super hero was fitting.
I have yet to actually give him a hero name but basically Tidum is 19 year old student with a kind heart and a good sense of humour. He also feels strongly about using his powers to help people and to fight for a better future.
As an aboriginal person, a transgender man and a just all around kind and empathetic human being, Tidum is a young man who would do everything in his power to help the black lives matter movement and stand up against oppression.
Tidum made his debut in an absolutely ridiculous comic I had published in 2018 on the back of the CIT (Canberra Institute of Technology) Student Association magazine, Excite. I later referred to this work as Beast of Belconnen(BoB). Although a lot of my comic focus these days is on my large scale work, Outsider, I do want to create more serious work with Tidum in the future, and maybe even finish BoB. In the meantime though, I always love drawing Tidum and brainstorming ideas about him.
Side note: the surname Jonas comes from own family's Warami heritage. At the time I was designing Tidum, I was also doing a lot of research on my family tree.
