I just found out about vocal/verbal stimming??? I mean, that the thing I do is a thing™, like, it has a name? What the hell, I just thought my brain was weird for latching on to words and phrases out of nowhere, repeating them as soon as I’m alone so I’m not met with the specific ‘this is what crazy people do’-face on top of all of my other issues. But apparently repeating five words for hours is, like, fine to enjoy? And to find it soothing is also, like, fine? It has a name??? What the hell?
Philippians 4:6 (TPT) - Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell Him every detail of your life,
Some may disagree with me but .... you don't have to write every day.
In fact you don't even have to spend every day thinking about your book/ideas. It's ok to take a break, to rest, to have some fun and just be at peace.
If you spend every second you're not writing thinking about your book/ideas simply because you feel guilty about not writing, guess what? You will still burn out and end up in a slump anyway, because you are not truly resting or recharging. All you're doing is internally stressing about the fact that you're not being productive.
The brain is a funny thing. Your slow brain may not be thinking about your book, but your fast brain will be mulling it over anyway, so learn to relax, have some fun, enjoy the moment you are in rather than stressing about tomorrow.
If you do that, then you might be pleasantly surprised when the answer to a book/idea problem pops into your head on the way to the shop when your slow brain is a million miles off topic (thank you fast brain 😎)
Learn to rest, not quit...

Autumn days.
You gave me a leaf.
I remember -
A butterfly leaf.
For flying;
For freedom and flying far, far away.
For such a fleeting life.
But it has been a good one - hasn't it?
I laminated it, you know.
I kept it.
It sits in its plastic cocoon, only ever to be reborn as something far older.
I hope it sits on shelf after shelf for years, yet.
Never needing an introduction, for the incased, smeared fingerprints are mine and mine alone - the marks of a child, so eager to hold some precious treasure -
And
Deeper still,
Yours.
But you won't need me for that. You'll know. You'll see it and you'll know.
We'll live forever in the sight of it - that dusty thing.
Preserved beyond its feeble years.
Dust, it should be now.
But still, I hope.
I hope it will sear itself into my fabric.
I hope no golden child will peer curiously and ask for the why,
For they will know
I hope they'll know.
Lord, I hope they'll know.
i am going to send u a love letter every night. i can see u sliding under and i worry. i miss the happy u. ur scared now. i am too, its ok.

I’ve been singing this song to my boys all their lives every time something bad has happened...they’re 14 and 7 now and they still ask me to sing it to them. And I’m a terrible singer lol
