How has the pandemic been treating you?

Not too bad honestly? But I speak from a place of relatively great privilege because my job is white-collar and the sort that was always amendable to remote work. I’ve always been an introvert/homebody so not being forced to see people is kinda a relief at times (especially over the holidays). But I do miss the freedom to just wander bookstores on my own or write at a cafe and take a random art class.

Heat. Born in the subtropics, guess that doesn’t leave you even when you spend the vast majority of your life living in temperate climates.

Uhhh... I don’t talk too much about my rl (outside of my job) here, so there’s probably a lot. Wow, I’m so bad talking about myself so you get the fact I keep in my backpocket for ice breaker questions like this: I once set off an alarm at the Met.

Are you shy?

Kinda? At least until we get to know each other, then good luck getting me to shut up about dumb shit and then I also get real loud volume-wise. Put me at a work party and I will hide in a corner with a drink or three. Stick me in a group of 3-4, I’ll at least try to participate.

Since the quarantine started? Slack’s notification sound. Three of those go off in a row and I go feral (and then go complain to elexica about it lol).

If I’m comfortable enough to sprout dumb shit in the replies of your posts, I already consider us friends.

(On a more serious note: It may take a while to warm up to you, but that happens with everyone? I’m generally pretty aloof until then, and there will be periods when I become that again, especially if I’m busy with work. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to talk to you, I’m just trying to figure out what engagement threshold you’ll tolerate from me before I become annoying.)
