Oh, absolutely give. She's a giver at heart, um...extremely compassionate and loving in general. I would say the only time she really chooses to "take" is when she makes the decision to have one night stands. Take in that sense being getting what she wants out of a quickie without the consequences of commitment--whether the person is happy about it or not. Generally she feels bad about it, but a lot of the time people are also just fine with a hook-up, which makes it easier every time. Honestly, imagining any other situation in which she's willing to just take feels nearly impossible. Giver to a fault, Anna is.
Why has Anna not been diagnosed? Has she gone to see a specialist before?
To put it frankly, she's afraid of the diagnosis. Alzheimer's already runs in her family, so she's pretty sure she knows exactly what they're going to say if she gets checked out. Her doctor has been on her about it for a while now, but she's too afraid to go. Every time she schedules an appointment, she ends up cancelling the week of. Getting over that fear is one of those mountains she's not really willing or able to climb alone.

Ohh! This is a fun one. Um...I feel like she's a big fan of like piano music and movie soundtracks. Anything she can put on in the background while she cooks or cleans or works or even just paints. At first, I wasn't sure what songs I associate with her, but...The instant I read this question the piano theme from the movie Up popped into my head? So, apparently that one! I believe it's called Married Life.
What is Anna's biggest insecurity? And what is her biggest source of confidence?
I think not being able to have children is huge for her since she has quite a bit of trauma from that with her ex. Additionally, I'd say the worry that she isn't doing right by her brother or that sometimes she has thoughts and wishes that he was different or that he didn't need her so much. As for confidence...I think maybe just her ability to entertain/watch/parent/etc children of just about any age. She's great with kids and she loves that about herself and takes pride in her ability to be so close with her students.
A lot of things, but especially strangers treating her younger brother like he's a child. She knows it annoys him, but it definitely bothers her far more and she tends to stand up for him since he doesn't do it himself. Although, I think she gets on her own nerves because then she feels like she's just treating him equally as childish by not letting him fight his own battles and it's sort of a vicious cycle (even though he doesn't blame her).
Depends on the Friday, but I'd say she, at the very least, takes time to unwind in the tub with a glass of wine consistently. Sometimes she sets aside time to spend with her brother playing board games or making art together. Painting is definitely an outlet for her weekly stress, so she might do that on a Friday night...Anything to sort of refresh herself so that she can do some lesson planning on Saturday in preparation for the coming week.
What has happened exactly between Anna and her ex husband? Did he leave her solely because she could not have children, or was there more to the story?
Thank you for the question, Nonny! I would say the issue that started their problems was that she could not have children and he was extremely unforgiving over that fact. He entirely blamed her even though she hadn't known before they got married--she'd always expressed her excitement over having kids one day. After a while, he turned to alcohol, got physically and verbally abusive towards Anna on and off (his constant apologies and manipulation kept her from leaving + the fear of not being able to care for her brother alone), and then finally left her for another woman. I would say...that's probably the best approximation of what happened without going too long-winded over it.

Annabelle was not born a Sloan. Her birth mother was a single woman who had found herself pregnant after an unfortunate one-night stand, but the woman was still extremely elated at the thought of having a child of her own. Unfortunately, at approximately twelve weeks along, she began having strange symptoms and after several tests were performed, it was found that she had a brain tumor. While operating was a possible option, there would be a significant risk that she would lose the baby and the woman was not prepared to accept that risk.
Instead, she opted for intense monitoring by Carina DeLuca and Lexie Grey throughout the duration of her pregnancy. After giving birth, she was prepared to have the surgery, but she was unable to survive the operation, leaving her daughter alone in the world.
Lexie was the one who had the first bond with the baby, and while she and Mark had their hands full at home already, she was quick to suggest they consider taking in this new little one as well. Mark was quick to agree, and the couple went through the necessary steps to adopt Annabelle, even giving her the name her birth mother had chosen for her.
Mark and Lexie were always open with Anna about being adopted, always making sure she knew that it didn't mean they loved her less than her siblings. And while she knew this was true, there was still always a small part of her that felt the need to prove to the world that she deserved to be a Sloan. This meant pushing herself harder in school, making sure she got as close to top marks as possible, and sometimes stretching herself a little too thin.
She had always been a very competitive person, as well as one who was able to find the flaw in any argument, which was what drove her to settle on studying to become a lawyer. While most people might think she would want to follow in her parents' footsteps in the medical route, she was actually very squeamish when it came to the sight of blood. However, as a way to maintain some semblance of the 'family' business, she has decided that when she goes into law, she's going to specialize in malpractice cases.
For now, Anna is only in her second year of college, finishing up most of her general education classes with a few select courses in the Criminal Justice major she's pursuing as an undergraduate. She lives at home to save money, and also works part-time at a clothing store in the mall, which she both loves and hates in equal measure.
