The oldest of four children, born and raised in Afton, Wyoming to a couple who had been deeply in love when they had Athena. Their first born, they poured a lot into giving her a loving home but as the other three came along, their marriage started to feel a real wear and tear.

The eldest daughter and pride and joy of the Wolffs, Athena did her best to do well in school, read as much as she could and stay out of trouble. Which she couldn't say for her siblings since they seemed to take her obedience as permission to be reckless in their various ways. The same could be said for her parents.

The perfect home fell apart just a few weeks after Athena's 16th birthday when her parents sat all four kids down to let them know that they would be getting a divorce. It felt like her entire world had fallen apart but what made it worse was the intensity of the divorce that she hadn't anticipated. Arguments and custody battles and in the end, two of her siblings decided to move in with their father when he left and she and her youngest brother stayed with their mother. A house divided indeed.

Thus began Athena's own string of recklessness. Still, she managed to graduate high school, went to a local college and tried to help her mother move through the days and make sure her youngest brother went to school on time. She tried not to let her resentment for her parents get to her but it was hard not to.

And then one day she walked into the local hardware store, looking for something for her brothers art project and she met the woman who would become her anchor.

She fell in love with Bennie the moment she met her and for the first time in a long time, she saw a reason to stay afloat, a reason to stop just getting by.

So she took her studies seriously again, focused on architecture and let Bennie show her around the hardware store, teaching her the tricks of the trade and allowed her to find therapy in getting her hands dirty.

Her youngest brother finally went off to college and she finally got her mother in therapy, after a lot of push and pull. And though things had been tense for a long time, all four siblings and both of her parents showed up to watch her marry the love of her life.

But of course life doesn't always stay on track. And after some serious heartbreak, she and Benedetta went to Cardinal Hill to find a new life and it was the first time Athena had ever left her family. It was scary but in many ways it felt good. She felt free.

Athena's magic is very cerebral and shows a lot in the way she thinks and approaches problems. It especially becomes evident in her architectural designs and the way she works to bring her clients to life. She loves co-owning the hardware store with her wife and has started to take clients to help them build their dream home or business.

It's not exactly what she thought life would be but it's hers and she's happy.

okay so athena is a Sad Bitch but also a Bad Bitch, she doesn’t sit around feeling sorry for herself but she definitely hasn’t processed literally any of the trauma she has experienced in her life. queen of distractions and overworking herself!

her older brother pretty much raised her bc their mother died when she was a toddler and their father is a no good pos. he was her real life superhero tbh. and GUESS WHAT he died in a motorcycle accident. it was a hit and run. she drives herself crazy over it.

she is very lonely in her personal life, probably doesn’t have a single friend. her brother was all she had in so many ways and the loss of him has literally left her empty.

during her leave of absence from work to deal with her debilitating grief, she realized that she had been living her life in the name of making SOMEONE proud of her. never really stopping to think about what she wants. she feels like she doesn’t know herself, she didn’t have much of a childhood or discovery phase so she is questioning literally everything right now.

when she returned to work, they threw her a welcome back party and basically told her that she was her brother’s replacement as lieutenant of the homicide department. literally right as she was thinking about starting her entire life over again.

she had a baby at 17 years old and put the baby up for adoption bc of her messed up family life. she still harbors a lot of guilt and pain from that, and because she has lost everyone she loved and she feels like she has no one, she wonders if that’s her karma bc she gave up her child. 

she just wants to help other people bc she can’t help herself goddammit

athena prob hasn’t had a truly meaningful romantic relationship in her life bc of her obsession with work and her abandonment issues tbh. i’m still getting to know her myself but i can see her dating a few woman for a couple of months, maybe some men for a couple of weeks but she struggles when things get emotionally intimate.

Audrey… honestly Audrey’s biggest fear is Reginald, and by association she’s terrified of failing in the real world and having to go back! She also still always flinches when she sees Diego pull out a knife but that’s still a Reginald thing more than a Diego thing because of her punishments (but it still hurts Diego every time)

Braeden struggles a lot with coming to terms with how bad everything was because she was left so isolated most of the time. Once she gets out and starts her own life she can start to process how fucked up it all was and she absolutely hates him! And then she and Allison reunite and her hatred grows worse because she had no idea what her siblings were being put through and Allison had no idea what she was put through and now they’re both pissed as fuck (after Vanya’s book they start talking very seriously about collaborating on one about what they went through, not to demonize Vanya but to share their side of the story)

Ophelia always wanted to go to Paris with Ben (between the history, the literature, and being the city of love, it’s something they always wanted to do) but now that he’s gone she doesn’t really want to anymore… alone she would love to go to England (specifically Oxford and London, and maybe try to find her mother) and Italy - especially Venice and Verona, but when she sees Juliet’s House she definitely just full on sobs in the middle of the street!

Teresa has actually never had ice cream because Reginald is the actual worst and Grace wasn’t all that present in her life compared to the others. When Klaus finds out about this (and about having a daughter at all), he takes her for ice cream and they spend the entire day trying different flavours, and she decides that her favourite flavour is strawberry (at least until she discovers moose tracks and falls in love) but she prefers vanilla with fudge sauce!

On a rainy day, Athena loves to have movie nights with Diego and Eudora! While people would think that would be awkward when Diego and Eudora are a thing, and worse when they no longer are, the family bond between the three of them is stronger than any romantic feelings. Their movie nights consist of ordering a ridiculous amount of pizza, several bowls of popcorn (always made on the stove), and taking turns picking the movie lineup! They have a policy for no superhero movies or anything of the sort (no matter how often Athena calls Diego “Batman”) but other than that it’s fair game! They each get a turn and then every fourth movie night they each pick a movie and watch them!
