[meta anon] How important was your faceclaim during the creation of your character? Did you have them in mind from the beginning or were they chosen after?

At the exact opposite end of the spectrum from Luce, Ben's FC was one of the first things I had in mind. I wanted to pick someone who was charming, charismatic, and is conventionally attractive. So much of who Ben is as a character relies on his ability to deceive others and to lure them in. Ben is someone who is very aware of how he appears to others and works very hard to cultivate a harmless, compassionate, and attractive persona. He knows that pretty people can get away with murder (literally, in his case) and he continually uses that to his advantage.
As far as FC specifics, Henry Cavill played Superman so he's quite literally what people think of when they think "All-American Golden Boy." And he's also seems like just a real sweet guy. Which is what Ben wants people to think he is.
Henry Cavill was always going to be my number one pick for Ben and I can't really think of anyone else who could replace him.
