Random Kitty Bruce Facts:

I make kitty Bruce’s line art thicker than everyone else’s. It makes him look especially cartoony.

His lil chest tuft disappears and re-appears because I imagine alfie cat smooths it down.

He’s got a lil white patch on his back right foot (Brucie mun’s headcanon that is now canon.) He hides it so I always draw that paw curled up so you can’t see it.

His mother was a familiar for a witch, and in another world he probably would’ve liked loafing next to holly leaves (wing of bat) in said witch’s home.

Originally I was gonna make kitty Bruce dislike big Bruce, but I’m a little fanboy and couldn’t bring myself to.

Kitty Bruce can’t make biscuits (brucie can’t cook teehee). Like he just can’t figure it out. His claws keep getting stuck.

His favorite toy is a little custom made birdie (a european robin specifically) that he drags around with him. He likes to leave it on people’s beds. He refuses to batt it around. Only carry it.

He will fuck up the lid to a bottle though. Slide one of those bad boys down the hall and he is CHASING it. You’ll hear the click clacking of the lid on the hard floor hours later.

If he fits he sits, but specifically in people’s boots.

Thinking about Olog!Bruce again today. How Trolls weren’t so much created as they were taken from a living creature and ‘corrupted’. How Sauron created Olog-hai to be, quite literally in some translations ‘Battle-‘ or ‘War-trolls’. That Bruce’s kind, feral or otherwise, was created for the sole purpose of inflicting harm and waging war.

How does one even live with that knowledge? Even if one abandons their ‘creator’, the intent remains.

How often does Bruce stare at his clawed hands and wonder if they’d be just as capable carrying out good and gentle deeds as they would be brandishing a weapon on the battlefield? If he was recaptured, how many innocent souls would have to suffer at his own claws?

How does one remedy their existence when their sole purpose is destruction?

The New Gods AU is dear to my heart <3

Dick and Tim (and Jason) are all godlings, meaning they are directly formed from a human emotion attaching to something. Strong enough emotion with enough time can turn a more nebulous thing into an actual child-shaped godling, which can then be either raised by a god or grown up by itself.

As a godling develops, they will need to find something that feeds them and sustains their life. That is what they are 'the god of' though it isn't really like they control the thing, they more relish in it and can develop powers associated with it. They need a thing however, or else they will fade. The stronger and more prevalent that thing is, generally the stronger the god though there's usually competition over resources. Concepts do go extinct too. The things that could once support gods can fade into obscurity, so often gods must adapt their godhood to survive. It's kinda like starting from square one in terms of power, but hey you don't fade out.

Dick was a godling born in the Roman Coliseum and among all the blood and spectacle that came with it. He loves the vicious sport of competition and a crowd screaming the players on. He doesn't so much mind how much pain comes from it; it often makes a better show. Bruce caught him when he was young and though he would have been in his rights to letting Diana snuff out Dick's life in fear he was attaching to concepts that were too violent and vicious, Bruce took him in. Bruce has worked towards getting Dick attached to less... bloody spectacles. He's been a god of many types of shows and events, though circuses both Roman and modern are his favourite. He searches for anything with showboating and performance of impressive feats. Today, he mainly gleans power from in-person events such as concerts or sports shows (like WWE) though he isn't picky. He's also recently been exploring the power associated with TikTok stunts.

Tim is a godling that was born around the same time that the printing press was developed. Lots of godlings spawned during the advent of mass communication and Tim started attaching himself to rumours, lies and mysteries hidden in between letters. He loved watching how lies could destroy someone, destroy a life, or completely hide truth from another. Now, Bruce's job as a god deals with lots of mysteries (which is a whole 'nother can of worms) so Tim kinda... just started following him along until Bruce adopted him. Tim was attracted to the mysteries built into Bruce's 'job' and he also doesn't mind recreating the death (Bruce does not like this or ask for Tim to do this). Today, Tim has adapted to focusing on cold cases and true crime. He absolutely adores the true crime podcast boom and has probably shown up on your favourite 'make-up and murder' get ready with me without you even knowing.

PERSONALITY

Bruce isn’t one person, but many. As Bruce Wang- he’s the calculating, wild-eyed playboy face of Wang Enterprises. As The Bat, he’s a creature of pure instinct and impulse trying desperately to keep anyone from experiencing the same trauma he himself did. And if you’re very lucky you get to meet Bruce, a lonely man trying hard to raise his children still haunted by one night years ago in an alleyway.

NEED TO KNOWS

Well I mean if y’all haven’t guessed yet I write Bruce as being of Chinese descent.

I also headcanon Gotham as being on the West coast as opposed to the East coast as it works better with my headcanons about the Wang family and I’m from California so uh there’s that. (I’m fairly fluid on this point though. And if we’re going the East coast route Gotham is very much in New Jersey)

In terms of the batsuit, I headcanon it as looking something like the Batman Beyond suit but without the chest logo and painted with vantablack with a voice distorter installed in the mask as well as elongated fingers for the gloves making his hands look clawed.

Weird note- but I do write the conception of Damian with Talia to be purely consensual.

“Thanks, mate! Despite sharks’ reputation on the reef, Nemo’s class doesn’t mind me poppin’ by to answer some ‘shark questions’ —even if Mr. Ray gets somewhat nervous.

“My appearance doesn’t really stop the barrage of questions from the li’l guppies— often more than a few questions all at once!

“But at least they aren’t frightened.”
