Is Cormack in love with Gwen? Would he want to settle down with her?

// Cormack’s definitely in love with Gwen. They’ve been dating for about two years at this point, right? Right?! I’m really bad at keeping track of things. But yes, he’s in love and that’s never really happened for him before (he’s been infatuated, for sure, but nothing deeper than that), but I would not say he’s ready to settle down. Cormack can be difficult to pin down in that area of life for me. Fiona is his Super AU child, because I’m not even remotely sure when Cormack will be ready for that stage of life. I’m not saying he’s entirely self-absorbed, per se, but his world is mostly centered around Quidditch and… his own desires? It revolves around doing his best for the Magpies; being young and having a blast with his friends, teammates, and girlfriend; and not being tied down in a very real sense by marriage. I’m not saying it’s something he would never, ever want, but it’s something that he’s not actively thinking about and if someone asked him if he wanted to settle down and marry Gwen, he’d wonder why he’d even have to contemplate something like that right now. What’s the point? He’s only twenty-seven; she’s only twenty-three/twenty-four; and why should they bother thinking about taking that step right now, especially during this WARTIME.

How is the war affecting your characters life?

//Cormack’s pretty stressed out, but he also has the comfort of knowing that he’s not exactly a Target (i.e. muggleborn) and he was certainly someone who kind of distanced himself from the issue because it didn’t directly affect him. But he looked around and he saw these people who he cares about who’re muggleborn (e.g. Lennox, Lizzie, Dawn, etc.) and everything became very, very real. Cormack lost his father at a young age and the thought of losing anyone else close to him is incredibly jarring and scary.

But while Cormack might really want to help with what’s going on with the war, he is incredibly unsure how to. At first, he thought of his career in Quidditch could be a cool morale booster for everyone but as the new season is looming over their heads, there’s rumors of the season getting cancelled and so he is genuinely lost. If you take Quidditch away from him, then what does he have to offer? He probably got by in school with nearly-straight Acceptables and he doesn’t shine in any other area of expertise.

So, yeah, Cormack is scared for his friends; he’s afraid that there’s honestly nothing for him to do (which stresses him out because he is a compulsive leader); and lost. He feels p. useless but whatev, he'll be fine.

Do you want your children (if you want to have any) to be just like you?

Havin’ kids s’not really on the forefront o’ my mind now or— ever, really, but I reckon I’d like ‘em to be an awful lot like me in some regards, yeah. Real passionate about Quidditch. That’d be mint, eh? Not sure I’d know how to raise a kid who hadn’t a lick o’ interest in the sport. Sounds dull.

Who is Cormack closest too in the world and why?

//His mom! He is definitely closest with his mom. He is a complete Mama's boy in which he holds his mom up on this pedestal and thinks she's just about the best thing in his life because, really, she is. She supports him, sends him biscuits, spoils him a little, gives him advice, tells him when he's needs to watch his mouth, etc. She's just a really great mom. She was a single mother raising a loud-mouthed, energetic, bossy son, and Cormack couldn't be more grateful for all that she has done for him.

Where does Cormack stand with his opinions on the war?

//Cormack is very "Hey guys! There is a terrible thing happening! We should do something about it in the only way we really can! Let's be a distraction!!!" Quidditch really saved Cormack's life, I like to think, and his game plan (no real pun intended, if you can even call it a pun. It's 2:30. Sh.) is to sort of...take people's minds off things with it; save their sanity. He thinks what the Death Eaters are doing is terrible, of course, and thinks they need to be stopped, but he has no idea how to help other than be some sort of coping mechanism/distraction for the wizarding community (keep in mind, last time he tried to make any sort of effort in protecting people, he got himself incendio'd). Want to get your mind off of what's happening around you? Tune into your wireless where you can hear about Cormack McLeod hitting some bludgers at people's heads for your entertainment!!! I'm not sure I answered this correctly, but what you should get out of this that Cormack thinks what is happening is very, very bad and he no likey.

Can Cormack ever see himself settling down with a family?

//Ooooh, I don't know. If he does, it isn't something he consciously thinks about? I think he'll eventually see his friends settling down and having kids and be like, "Hey! I could do that!" But, as of right this very moment, no he can't see himself doing that. I'd also like to include that this is the very essence of Cormack as a father:

Could Cormack ever see himself in a non-quidditch related job or do you think he'll be a part of it till he's old and grey?

//Cormack definitely cannot see himself in some non-quidditch related job. Personally, I do think he's pretty capable of branching out, as long as it is some sort of leadership role because he loves bossing people around and being in charge and he's good at it, too. He's organized and driven and capable of rallying people together. But, realistically, I think he's going to be part of the quidditch community, in some way or another, until he's old and gray; freckly and shouting in a hoarse voice, telling the team they're lagging, while the current captain of the Magpies is like, "Mr. McLeod, I know that you're the manager but please!!!"

Could Cormack see himself in a relationship with Gwen?

//It’s definitely not out of the question, in regards to how Cormack feels about the situation. Getting together with someone isn’t exactly on his mind, of course, but right at this moment, if he were to have some semblance of a relationship with anyone, it’d probably be Gwen; anything ranging from shag buddies to…casual dating, probably. Anything serious seems like it’d take a long time to work up to. Of course, I’m not speaking for Gwen or Alex in any way whatsoever.
