Lost among the cry of seagulls, the quiet words disappear into the cold, blue sunrise.
“You’re an oddity.”
Stray bangs sway in the salty wind; white with one unusual streak of black. Tilting his head, Akutagawa side-eyes the person beside him.
“What does that man see in you?”
The lack of bitterness catches him off guard, causing Atsushi to blink before staring at where the sea’s waves hit the shore. Relentless and unforgiving, grains of sand swirl back into the ocean’s grasp, reminding him of a certain scene.
He steps a bit closer with a sigh.
“Who knows?”
Stretching out his arms, Atsushi ignores the look of distain shot in his direction and lets himself enjoy the slightly chilly breeze.
“Nobody knows what he’s thinking, but if I were to guess,”
Heterochromatic eyes shine bright gold when sunlight hits the detective’s smiling face.
“Maybe a roundabout way to make things right.”
