Can we get some fun facts for Estella Tyler? 🥺

Hell yeah we can!!

So Estella is Rose and TenToo’s daughter!

But between Rose still having remnants of the time vortex in her and TenToo being half time lord, Estella is sort of an impossibility with some powers of her own

Because of timey-wimey stuff, when she crosses the rift she lands in Cardiff a few months before Torchwood season 1

Jack is the one who finds her and Estella knows exactly who he is bc stories

Jack almost cries when she introduces herself (she can’t fully explain everything that’s happened but explains “time travel and paradoxes” and that’s good enough for him)

Most people assume that she’s his daughter, and Estella very much sees him as a dad! 

Her adventures with the Doctor really start with the series five dalek episode (with Eleven and Amy in ww2)

I hate how Torchwood ended so basically the reason she starts travelling with the Doctor is to find a way to go back and save Owen and undo everything that happened after (aka basically just to save them all because I DESERVE THIS OKAY)

“So, are you Jack’s daughter?” Gwen asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence.

Estella laughed, light and airy, and grinned at the team.

“Nope,” she said, “but he did kiss both of my parents — sort of — and then died for them so like, close enough, right?”

“Right, well.  See ya in hell,” she said, turning on her heel to follow Churchill.

“Wait — what did you just say?”

Celeste Nichols meets Jack by pure accident but their relationship develops quickly (and she meets Ianto and the three of them are a sort of ship, but mostly it’s Jack dating both of them bc Celeste isn’t around often)

Carys Harkness-Jones was born during the year that never was, but because of having Jack’s weird bad wolf dna, she ages quickly and doesn’t de-age when they reverse the year

Ceridwen Lewis did a double major in politics and history

Elodie Harper wanted to be a doctor because of Owen before ending up going to Oxford for law instead, and she’s still not really sure how she ended up at Torchwood

Rose Harkness was named after Rose Tyler, the Doctor first meets her at the beginning of the Year That Never Was arc

Estella Tyler is Rose’s daughter with TenToo from the other universe!

Deus Ex Machina

In general, Estella is a powerful character, but this more specifically applies to her overall plot!  After Children Of Earth (in torchwood), Estella is so unwilling to accept that the entire team other than she and Jack has died, so she grabs Jack’s vortex manipulator and sets off to go and find The Doctor and find a way to bring them all back — and, through a combination of her particular powers and the universe being a bit broken, she manages to save her entire team!

HELL YEAH SHE IS TOSH IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!

Basically from the moment that Owen dies the first time, Estella starts trying to figure out how to go back and save him, and after Exit Wounds that becomes an extremely frantic desperation turned obsession

After Children Of Earth she no longer cares about the risk factor (“they’re all gone and you can’t die, what do I have to lose”) which is what leads to her going off to find the Doctor

I haven’t figured out yet if she goes back to Exit Wounds and saves Owen and Tosh then or if I want her to go further back and save Owen from dying at all, but through wibley-wobbly timey wimey shenanigans she doesn’t exactly change the timeline she just brings them to the beginning of the children of earth arc so that they can change/undo all of that
