Apparently there's discord about Berkut and Rinea in the FE fandom. Thoughts?

i love them! yes berkut is the villain of echoes but hes a villain w a reason. hes groomed since childhood to be an emperor in a kingdom he will never have. he was a quiet shy timid child who cried a lot and was groomed to be strong and hold a perspective that he will soon rule (which in the end. he couldnt) he was told from young that hes powerful. that hes above everyone. that he would make a great emperor. he was told from this since young so imagine his agony when all of them are. in his words. LIES LIES LIES
but then rinea came to picture. rinea came to his life. berkut was raised strictly but never truly loved for who he is. until rinea came. and berkut found solace and sees her as his beacon. she loves him for him. and berkut, never felt true affection before, didnt knw how to respond properly. yes he loves her too bt really how does he make her happy? to be the emperor n make her the happiest empress of course. coz thats what he was told. thats what he was shoved in the head.
rinea loves him for him. flaws and all. and berkut has never felt so open and free. in all in his years of living, berkut actually feels like his young innocent self w her and he loves her even more.
so long story short: i love their dynamic. its still heartbreaking what happens to them but i know berkut truly loves rinea and she loves him. n feh only soldified this canon. its just a shame tht rinea was caught in a bad time n a bad place and berkuts heartbreak was horribly manipulated by duma tht he could no longer see the reality of his own puppetized actions
