BIOGRAPHY
Katya was born Ekaterina Alisa Reznikova, the youngest of three children born to Igor and Galina Reznikov. Her parents came from a long line of pureblooded Russian witches and wizards, her parents being second cousins themselves. The pure blood status was held with high regard within the Reznikov family. Igor was a dark wizard who took a lot of influence from other dark wizards and was known to have been mixed up with Gellert Grindelwald before his untimely death near the Ministry of Magic in London. At the time of her father’s death, Katya was ten and less than a year shy of starting her first year at Durmstrang.
Igor’s death meant that Katya was never sent to Durmstrang. Galina did not want for her children to follow in their abusive father’s footsteps and, instead, sent the children to Ilvermorny in the United States. Katya, like her brothers, was sorted into Wampus, where Alexei acted as their guardian more than their older brother.
Katya, like her brothers, kept to herself mostly. While Alexei and Ilya had each other in the dorms to turn to, Katya kept quiet and made next to no friends. She excelled in charms and potions with a proclivity toward Defense against the Dark Arts, but was not nearly as gifted in Transfiguration as her brothers. With no friends and her brothers graduating before her, Katya scored highly in her exams and left school without leaving much of an imprint on the other students or faculty.
Straight out of Ilvermorny, both Ilya and Alexei joined MACUSA. Katya, however, traveled back to Russia to spend two years with her mother before returning to the States, as she missed her brothers (though she would never tell them that). As ambitious and gifted as she was, she set out for a job as an auror in the MACUSA as well. There were a few hiccups on her way to obtaining her goal, but she proved to be as excellent an auror as her brothers – and without the pesky little love lives they had to worry about.
Katya was always looked down upon by both her mother and her father for the simple fact that she was a girl. That said, Katya will go to great lengths to prove that she is just as capable, if not more so, than any male in her field. She goes above and beyond to prove herself, sometimes to the point of overdoing it, but she wouldn’t change if asked.
