It should also be noted that if someone were trying to flirt with Lark he would find any and all reasons why that person wasn't actually flirting with him and was just being nice. He's the king of 'yeah they just jokin'.

Lark has a big fear of orcas, specially pods of orcas. It is a trauma response even as he gets older.

The trauma in question? The death of his younger brother. The reason for his excommunication from his family. The reason he was sent to the island at the very edge of their territory out in the middle of nowhere. Lark was pretty young himself when his younger brother was killed on a routine hunt. Lark was young and dumb and wanted to show off and went after a lone orca to bring back. Except the orca wasn't alone so when he went after it a whole pod came after them.

Of course his younger brother wasn't fast enough just yet and as hard as the two of them fought them Lark still had to witness him getting torn apart as he swam off to safety. He told his mother what had happened and instead of killing him herself she ordered him to defend the stretch of island and to not leave because he should "have to live with the death of him. live with being a coward who ran".

He was also told not to contact the family and that if they wanted to speak to him that they would come to him first. None of them will.

Lark really is just one of those southern swamp men. Scared and respectful of his mother and most women/women presenting people.

Gruff and scarred and fucked up nose and teeth from too many fights but will get nervous if he goes on a date. He's baby despite how massive he is.

🤥 LYING - are they good liars? do they have tells to show they're lying?

Fuck no he's awful at lying. ESPECIALLY awful at lying to women.

If the man could sweat he'd be covered in it but he like...gives the vibe of a sweaty man if he's trying to lie. Big wide eyes, nervous laughing and rubbing his arms.

Also, Lark has had multiple Rovers. They are a generational Plover family that has nested near him for awhile. He just doesn't recognize the difference in them and thinks the bird can live forever.

Also Lark is a bit ignorant on some things he's never been exposed to. He doesn't have the best book education and has a lot of hands on skills. He can hook up solar panels but he couldn't tell you the capital to like anywhere. That being said, he's always willing to learn and likes listening to people talk over himself talking. This is consistent among all his verses and in his human verse he's a bit more self-conscious about it than when he's a croc-taur.

In his human verse he's actually a mechanic and a general tinkerer. He may not have them fancy book smarts but he's practically MacGyver.

The junction where his jaw connects to his skull. That spot riiiiight under and a bit behind the ear. That spot is tender because of overuse and TMJ so if someone knows how to touch it right (gently) then he's gonna be putty in their hands.

Lark

Lark doesn't really pay much attention to his birthday anymore. He's in his 80s and doesn't really have anyone that would celebrate it with him. That doesn't mean that he has negative connotations with it at all. He just doesn't care much. His birthday is December 19th!

Ninat

Ninat also doesn't particularly celebrate his birthdays, though will if other people are interested. He doesn't like it all that much, but will play it up if he has people excited about it. Surprisingly he doesn't like big parties, but will soak it all in if he's invited to one. Ninat 's birthday is November 11th!
