Since it's not possible for her to make you pregnant, I imagine it'd have been with you either getting pregnant by either cheating or artificial insemination, for the sake of fluff we'll go with the second one. She'd be a bit scared if she has to be honest. In the red light district, pregnancies rarely bring joy and the risks of being pregnant. Despite this, she won't ever let her own fears stop your happiness at all, she hides those pretty well. It's very unlikely you got pregnant by accident with him. He takes care of that stuff very seriously and doesn't want to bring a child into the world unless he is sure he and his partner are in a secure and lasting relationship that will provide the child with a happy family. From what he can remember, he was an orphan, so he knows the struggles and loneliness of being always alone. When he learns you're pregnant, it was probably something you've been trying to happen and so it'd be something he'd smile for. After trying, you're going to make a family, that itself is beautiful.

Jacob wheezes a laugh, causing Leah to frown, “I’m serious! He wasn’t looking at me but I dunno I just. It was weird. I’m all paranoid now.” her voice sounds like even she is beginning to doubt herself.

“Leah, you see a guy enough times in a walmart and you think he’s stalking you? Would you feel the same way if it was a little old lady you see all the time? Take a step back and have some perspective, wouldja? You sound like a paranoid jackass.” he sets his burger down, elbow resting on the table while he speaks.

“It’s not a very big town, Mack, you probably just see him a lot. I wouldn’t get worried unless you actually have like. Real proof that he’s got his eye on you. If all you have right now is that you’re dreaming about him and see him in walmart sometimes what kind of evidence is that? Nonsense is what it is. Paranoid nonsense that comes off as a little bit sexist even.” he picks his burger back up and continues eating while he speaks.

“But if you said you, say, found something in your mail that didn’t add up... or maybe got a suspicious text? Then I’d get concerned. But this? All this sounds like to me is that you need to get out of the house more. Maybe consider asking the chief for a few days off. You can come stay with me if you want? Maybe that’ll help you feel safer?”

Leah sighs, seeing his point and even agreeing with him. Even if she were being stalked, it’s not likely that she’d be that way for very long with Afton in her pocket. If anyone would stalk her it’d be him, and if she knows anything about him it’s that he’s definitely the sort to snuff out competition quite literally.

“You’re right...” she accepts the logic behind Jacob’s reasoning, “I think I just need some time off. Maybe we should go to the movies or something this weekend. I don’t wanna stay at your place for too long... Kind of a workaholic. Y’know how it is. If I’m not in uniform for too long I get crabby.”

“Yeah I know how you are. Lets get out of here. I need to walk this burger grease off before I get home so I don’t die.”
