about nikki:

21, junior, studying premed with the hopes of becoming a plastic surgeon one day

born and raised in indiana; moved to arizona for school

pansexual demigirl (she/her)

nikki grew up with a mom who was a stripper; her dad left them when she was only four years old. 

her mom had a whole array of boyfriends over the years, and nikki learned quickly how cruel men can be. after the first incident, her mother didn’t believe her when she told her that her bf had come into her room late one night, and instead snapped at her to stop making things up

( and that was one of the last times she spoke the truth )

therefore, nikki kept her mouth shut, hated her mom from a distance, and locked her bedroom door at night

at just nine years old, nikki experienced being bullied for her weight for the first time when she asked out a boy in her class and he told her he didn’t date fat girls 

she immediately began associating her self worth to her weight and developed bulimia

she’s very good at hiding secrets, and no one found out until a teacher walked in on her during the end of lunch period one day

they set up a meeting with her mother, who refused to believe there was a problem and admitted that they couldn’t afford to send nikki to therapy on her salary. so, the girl ended up meeting with the guidance counselor once a week for the rest of elementary and middle school. and by eighth grade graduation, she had managed to fool everyone into believing that they had cured her.

it was really only the beginning of her taking advantage of how gullible people are. anyone will do what you want them to do if you ask with a smile.

high school was where nikki found her confidence. she befriended the most popular girls at school and dated a new guy every other month. besides, there was no such thing as love at sixteen years old. 

she also enjoyed her fair share of parties -- drinking, smoking pot, trying shrooms and even ecstasy one time. she def knew how to let loose on the weekends

despite her busy social life, nikki was also an incredibly hard worker. she excelled in science and had dreams of working in the medical field. she wanted to be wealthy, and getting into the plastic surgery field seemed like a good fit. 

she applied to a fair share of schools, but for some reason, she was drawn to northshore. probably because of its stellar science program and crazy party scene

zeta theta pi seemed like a good fit, not bc she thought of herself as super kind (she was actually just keeping up a facade), but bc it was the srat for intelligent folk. and she wanted to make sure she knew who the smartest people were -- so she knew exactly who not to befriend. it was much more fun secretly being the cleverest friend. 

nikki is very materialistic, and she makes money at school by writing other students’ essays and reports

Hi! Hi! BINGO friend! Does Nikki have a “tell” for when they’re lying?

She doesn't! When she was much younger she would always look at the floor to lie, but that was trained out of her within a few months of moving in with Natasha! We will see her consciously reminding herself not to do it (mainly in the early books), and she slips up on rare occasions, but she wasn't allowed to have any tells or weaknesses.
