“We’re going to die.”

“We’re not going to die, Peter,” Nikki insisted, crouching beside him behind the edge of the roof.

“We’re going to die,” he repeated.  “They’re going to kill us because they’re bad guys and then Mr. Stark is going to kill us for getting killed—”

“We’re not going to die,” she repeated.

“—and then Aunt May is going to kill him for killing us and then she’s going to bring us back to life just to kill us again for getting killed twice.  I don’t want to die, Nik, Ned and I haven’t finished our Millennium Falcon and—”

Nikki sighed fondly, grabbing Peter’s face.  Before she could think about it too hard, she was rolling his mask up to his nose and pressing her lips to his.

“We’re not going to die,” she whispered against his lips, before he was leaning in for another kiss.
