HEADCANONS #1: TIDBITS
1. During her first few days as a human, Nyla was desperate to try everything that she'd never gotten to try as a dog. Meaning, certain activities like riding public buses, and trying certain foods that back home in Paradise Falls, they didn't have. And apparently, for good reason-- after some unfortunate food testings, Nyla discovered that she was allergic not only to dairy, but to wheat too.
2. Since her shift, she's never understood people's expectation that she wear a pair of shoes on her feet at all times. It's much more common to see Nyla walking around barefoot, even outside-- while her human feet might not be tough like her paws, or as hard for the cold to get to, she's so used to walking like that that it doesn't really bother her.
3. Though she's had time to adjust, Nyla still has a lot of habits that she had while she was a dog. Including, but not limited to; the guarding of her food, tilting her head in curiosity, and chewing on just about everything-- a habit which has caused her to chip a tooth. Though more rare now than it was at the very start, when she gets extremely angry, she's even known to bare her teeth.
4. Likewise, plenty of fears that she had while she was still a doberman are still fears that she has now. Loud noises, doctors and nurses (and veterinarians), hospitals themselves, are all things that Nyla will openly admit to not enjoying.
5. Nyla is, by all definitions, very intelligent. However, because of her lack of early schooling, she's severely behind in most every subject, even ones which she takes extra lessons for. She only learned to write when she came to WDA, meaning that her handwriting would be described as childish at best, and though she knew how to read it wasn't at the level that a college student would need to be at. It's extremely likely that she'll need to repeat senior year, and that she won't achieve the results which she could have if she'd been attending school as a human for longer.
6. She's pretty colorblind. Instead of three color receptors, she has two-- one which peaks at the blue-violet range, and the other at yellow-green. While the world isn't completely black and white, like some people think that dogs worlds are, it's all in shades of yellow, gray and blue rather than the rainbow of colors that most other humans can perceive. Over time, she's learned to 'see' but not really see colors-- red is a different shade of gray to orange, purple is different to pink, etc. Some are darker, some are lighter, and through trial and error she can now tell some of the difference, though understandably she does mix things up.
