There's a book store in Helsinki that constantly plays classical music, which is my preferred way to shop for books, thank you! But certain show runners keep using famous classical pieces in their emotionally heavy and extremely romantic scenes. So while I'm browsing some new titles I can suddenly hear Claude Debussy's Rêverie or Erik Satie's Gnossienne (OFMD) or Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata (Heated Rivalry) and be struck by fandom feelings. Great times!

Welcome To My Blog

Hello and welcome to my Tumblr blog. My name is Rita. You might know me as Ms Lovely Rita in fanfic circles.

I write a lot of classic rock fanfiction, mostly about Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin, my two favorite bands of all time. A good chunk of that surrounds Robert Plant, who has held my heart hostage for the past three years. But I write about other members as well.

I also love pirates. Particularly Our Flag Means Death, and have become hopelessly in love with Edward Teach and his big beautiful brown eyes.

This blog is mainly for me to thirst over my favorite band members/fictional characters.

I know that mod has also dealt with a lot of stress through running it but it's so great that we have a place to put that skrunkly little man in the jar and a lot of my favorite meta in this fandom wouldn't exist without it

My podfic with full soundscape of On the Harbourside at Half Past Chucking-Out Time by Shearwater, in which Merstede meets Sad Fisherman Ed. I love it when I read a fic like this and I can hear the sounds of it in my mind. This one is lots of short (and one longer) scenes all written in real time and all set in places that have distinct sounds. I love being able to add another layer to a the experience of a fic and doing that with sound makes me smile a lot.

TO ME Ed saying “let’s take it slow” has the same energy as me saying “I’m not getting takeout at all this week.” Like yes it is the objectively healthier and wiser thing to do but sometimes you just REALLY want a little treat*. ESPECIALLY when you’ve had a hard day.
