Discovering that my last post was the start of June has really blown my mind.

I've spent the last few months dealing with poor health which is now a lot better and have actually fufilled a dream of mine which is to have my own studio space! As my roomie and I finally rent a townhouse and not an apartment I have been able to set up a corner of the garage for myself! And the cat can't get me there and stand on everything hooray!

As result, I have spent a fair amount of time playing with new and old mediums and being focussed mainly on study as opposed to fanart. Making mess with charcoal, pastels both pencil and oil and after many years of debate I finally decided to try oil paint (and it's the shit omg)

I've done barely any digital, namely because a computer update cost me my copy of Photoshop CS6 and all my settings. I have found CC extremely frustrating to use.

I also forgot Inktober for the first time in years until about a week in. I hadn't been making art for a month by that point so it completely slipped my notice. My mates ended up setting up a RPG which ignited the inspiration again so I ended up working on a prologue comic for my PC which I chose to do in ink. Session 0 and the start of the game has revealed her to essentially be female pirate Mavik which i'm naturally loving.

Anyway I'm playing OoT again while waiting desperately for Baldur's Gate to come out on xbox, so will probably be hanging out on the Forgotten War blog.

As of 7-13-19, I just updated the about me page on my blog, but since Tumblr mobile won’t let you read pages (or at least won’t let ME read pages) I wanted a linkable post version as well. Updated Oct. 27th, 2020.

My online name is Rev.

(It’s in no way related to my real life name, but that makes it much more comfortable for me to use online. I’ve also had it since I was ~16 and hanging out on FF.net, so it’s as much an identity as anything else at this point.)

I can’t believe it’s Inktober again! Unlike last year (when i was in lockdown and off work for most of the month) I’m actually working a lot this year. I’m not expecting to get much done as a result but we will see how much energy and enthusiasm I have on my days off 😊

Not super into the prompt list for this year so I’ve made a list of 20 Pirate/ nautical words and am rolling a d20... cause Pirate!AU is stupid and fun.

i thought the animal crossing update had dropped a little earlier this morning when i was lying in bed without my glasses on and saw what i thought was a new special visiting NPC but when i tried to talk to it, it turned out to be a decorative globe that i had dropped on the beach last night

Hey guys just an update in regards to inktober for those who were curious. and because posting about it kinda makes me feel like I have to give it an honest try and not simply nope my way out of it

I’ve decided to do it differently this year as it unfortunately started right when I was moving house and started a casual job.

I’ve decided to throw caution to the wind and try something truely ambitious, and that involves taking a tiny slice of my DA Worldscape plot and turning it into a comic. Not my usual storyboarding but actual pages. All traditionally done in ink, watercolour and gold acrylic.

I just wanted to say ahead of time, (because frankly i’m already a little stressed and it makes me feel better) that I make no promises to:

a) upload pages on a schedule. (I have other commitments)

b) ever actually finish it. (Cause frankly I’ve tried this before on more than one occasion and given up every time.) Though I will say if people want to know what happens I could drop the fic.

I haven't actually attempted a long timeframe project like this in years so frankly it’s intimidating but you never know what you’re capable of unless you try. And no matter what happens you will always learn something.

So super keen to get posting again, hopefully this week as I’m ordering a new high-quality scanner. Currently have the cover page, pg 1 and pg 2 finished except text bubbles. And I will admit i’m super proud of how they are looking.

So fingers crossed I don't Icarus myself again!
