3 - Random fact about yourself?

I have never climbed a tree, but it is one of my greatest desires. That said, I’m both a clutz and have a fear of heights.

5 - What’s your favorite song?

I have so many..... hmmmmmm........ I’m gonna go with “Sober Up” by AJR.

7 - Do you like horror?

This is an interesting question, because yes and no. I like writing horror. I like some types of horror art and short stories. I have never seen a horror movie and likely never will. I have never read a full horror novel and likely never will.

“But Ryuu, you write and draw horror?” Yes, but I don’t want to see it IRL when I know humans are sicker than any false monster and have likely created such deeds on their own, provided that a human isn’t the villain in the story to begin with. Keep it to the eldritch and the demonic and the ever so slightly unnerving in a way you can’t quite place but sends shivers down your spine regardless. Not the fae though. You don’t fuck with the fae.

8 - Coffee, tea, or something else entirely?

I have a guilty pleasure drink at Starbucks. It has shocked and horrified every barrista I’ve ever told it to.

Grande matcha Frappuccino with two shots of espresso.

I love them both. I can’t choose just once.

24 - Do you write fics?

Indeed I do! I have quite a few accounts floating about now, most of them abandoned out of shame or lack of interest. *cough*Wattpad*cough*

Though apparently the Hazbin Hotel fandom is thriving on Wattpad, for some reason? Which honestly I think is due to the surprisingly large population of 13-15 year olds in the fandom....

In any case, I have a fanfiction account where I had a few underservingly popular stories, but most of the time I use AO3 nowadays. Or I’m rping in a Discord server and leaving my fics to collect dust.

Why am I crying?

So I’m here, a 24 year old guy, working on a job he likes with people he considers his friends. And yet here I am, sitting in front of my computer, crying my eyes out. ... (incoming vent...I’ll put it under a keep reading tag...)

Why?... because during lunch I talked to my family, and the conversation led back to when I was 10-14. I remembered, I hurt. Tried to talk to my mother about it, about how it would’ve been best if she’d put her foot down and made me switch schools despite my tantrums. She got on the defensive, like I was accusing her. She insisted I couldn’t ask for her to do something when the problem was unnoticeable.

She’s my mom, and I love her with all my heart... But how could she not have noticed that her cheerful little dart suddenly became agressive, violent, compulsively depressed out of nowhere? The move from China wasn’t explanation enough for what I had become. My Dad was scared of me, scared that any sngle thing they said to me would set me into a rage...

And how wouldn’t it? I was a 10 year old boy trying to fit in back in. The 5 years we lived away I had always wanted to go back to Mexico, to my cousins and friends... But once I got back I went from the secluded safety and friendship of a small international school to the hell-hole of a rich-kid private school. Bullied phisically and emotionally to no end because I knew too much, did too well, had a story to tell. To mention just one event: The first day after graduating from elementary I was punched repeatedly in the face by another kid only because he wanted my bunk bed. Once the adults scolded him and made him leave he spat on the bed. 

I retreated into my mind, my fantasies and games. I missdeveloped my sexuality, missdeveloped my social skills... my self-worth was in shambles. I contemplated suicide while sitting on my windowframe more times than I can recall. This went unnoticed, this went untreated. My parents didn’t understand, and of course in their efforts to properly educate me I was scolded for my attitude, for my outbursts... and everything kept snowballing because of it.

It would take me more than three years to stop being like that after I was transfered to a better school. It took me much longer to get over other consequences. And as you can tell from a 24 year old guy crying infront of his computer... many more effects of that time of my life are still not done healing.

Still to this day I’ve hurt my best friends, I’ve exhasperated them to the point of anger... because of fears, insecurities, and anxieties that were spawned all those years ago and that I’m still trying my best to get over.

Stop bullying, stop hatred. If your friends or family start acting steadily stranger and stranger in negative ways you have to KNOW that there’s something happening underneath it all... It would’ve been better to have a tantrum, a scolding, and a forceful change of schools and cut the damage short... than what happened...

Oooh let’s see 2 facts about my favorite things~

Even though I am a huge fan of many video games for their nostalgic value and loyalty to franchises like Pokemon and Zelda (I’m a big-time Nintendo boy XD), my top 3 absolute favorite games are not Nintendo and two actually aren’t even a ‘franchise’ I’d say! (Journey, Shadow of the Colossus, Valkyria Chronicles)

If you ask me what my favorite food is, chances are I’ll give you a different answer every time! XD There’s just so many heavenly dishes out there… How can anyone stick to just one!?

Does your character dream or are their nights filled with an empty blackness? Describe a dream they’ve had or a night they couldn’t sleep and what they did to preoccupy their time.

Ryuu isn’t a big sleeper, both because he has high energy and because his dreams tend to be more like nightmares. For the most part, they’re [REDACTED] but sometimes he has those typical, weird dreams, like leading a group of pandas to the promised land.

Can they multi-task or must they focus on one subject at a time?

He can multitask like a mother fucker, permitting none of the things are something he’s bad at. Ask him to solve an equation while jogging and he’ll probably use one of those 3 wishes to kill you.

Do they prefer romance or affection? What is the quickest way to your character’s heart?

Affection, all the way. It’s not to say he doesn’t like romance, because with the right person he’s all for it, but he’s naturally affectionate with more people anyway. Winning him over takes a lot of ‘Ryuu’s impression of you’ checks to go through, to decide if someone is ultimately trustworthy enough to know certain things about him. But he likes food, too.

Nope, certainly not yet. Typically, when Ryuu gets overwhelmed, he just immerses himself in it more and forces his body or mind to get used to it.

Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone?

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA He trusts people to a disgusting degree. Even after being stabbed in the back, if he likes someone enough, he’ll ignore it (see: Conor in R Inc lol)

Finally; if your character was forced to eat one thing for the rest of their life, what would they choose and why?

Cereal. He loves it and there are like 100000 types of cereal.

He’s a bit careless. A lot careless. He’s 100% careless I’m so sorry

He’s pretty perceptive about things but chooses to ignore most of them, save for the things that bother him the most.

He is. Strange.

What are their best school subjects? What are their worst? List five of each.

Ryuu’s best school subjects are mostly physical ones (obviously), but he has an affinity for all science subjects, too! (Biology, astronomy, chemistry, etc)

On the flip side, his worst subjects are math, English, Japanese Lit, physics, and calculus.
