AN: just a silly little chapter since I'm not quite ready to let these two go ...

“Is it bad that I’m relieved?
Parker shakes her head, "no, a baby is a huge step, even when you want one."
"I haven't told Jack," you admit, taking a sip of your strawberry matcha.
"I mean, it just means more trying, right?" Yasmin grins as Parker chokes on her flat white.
“Jesus Christ, Yasmin," she mutters, shaking the coffee from her hand.
"I'm just saying -"
"Honestly," you swallow, "I'm actually glad for the break -" Parker lets out a deep sigh, and you shoot her an apologetic look. "Sorry," you laugh, "I'm just surprised I can still walk straight -"
"Bitch -" Yasmin wheezes as Parker plugs her ears, gesturing for you to continue.
"I'm not saying it's not good, it's just ..."
"Hard to be spontaneous when you're on a timeline?"
"Yes," you lightly smack Parker's arm, "we argued for fifteen minutes last night about soup."
"Soup?"
Parker nods, "about whether or not you eat, or drink it?"
"Yes."
Parker rolls her eyes, "the man will not let it go - you eat soup," you say in unison.
"Fucking thank you," you huff, crossing your arms.
"But what if it's in a mug?" Yasmin wonders.
"Are you using a spoon?" Parker demands, and Yasmin nods, "then you're eating it."
"I'm glad it's not just me," you mutter, taking a sip of your drink.
"He and Shen nearly got into a shouting match about why cold coffee isn't the same thing as iced coffee."
"Okay, ew. It's not the same -
"No," you shudder, finishing the rest of your drink.
"You said you're off next weekend?" You wonder, stepping outside of Mikusu.
“Yes,” Parker nods, until Sunday night.”
“We should definitely go to the cabin then,” you grin, pulling her into a hug. "You can bring Bosco, Yas!"
“I’ll see you Monday!” Yasmin calls, quickly crossing the street.
You decide to take the long way home, wandering past the different cafes and boutiques that line the street, pausing outside of a cute little shop called Periwinkle Fox and you take a deep breath, before stepping inside.
"Welcome in,” a warm voice greets you.
“Hi," you grin, running your hands along the pastel onesies, spotting a little fox hat, and you make your way over.
"All of our items are made in the United States," the associate grins, "we just got those in. Aren't they darling?"
You're about to grab the fox hat when you notice the green hat behind it, a soft green, with little black felt antenna and you pick it up.
Your grandpa used to call you bug, and you can't help but grab the green little onesie that's folded next to it, bringing it to the counter.
"Did you need a gift receipt for this?"
"Oh, no," you shake your head, pulling out your wallet.
You stop by a bench near the park to send Jack a text.

You half expect him to reply with something about how only twenty percent of women conceive on the first try.

You've just started the newest episode of The Ultimatum, when Jack gets home and you glance over, laughing as he steps inside of your apartment, bouquet of sunflowers first.
"What are those for?"
"Putting up with me," Jack replies, and you roll your eyes.
"Did you buy John flowers?" You tease and Jack laughs.
"No, because he's wrong."
You wrinkle your nose, "he's really not."
"I take it you had a good coffee with Parker?"
You giggle, grabbing the bouquet, before you stand on your toes to kiss him.
"Yes, we're going to the cabin next weekend."
"Is it's girl's trip?"
"Nope, you're welcome to come, if you can behave yourself."
"No promises!"
