Lucifer has been absolutely carrying the comedy of this season. When I tell you I had to pause during his conversation with Vox because he was taking me out, I mean it.
The absolute little of a fuck he gave at Vox's villain monolog was stellar. Lucifer undercutting his talk of Carmilla with calling it an okay name drop was just...fuck I love him.
Luci, sweetheart, I'm gonna need you to rub your two braincells together though.
Also...
Can we get a little bit more than an "oh, no" for what is literally torture on my king here?! Get my baby out of that machine! Lucifer was really going through it these last two episodes. He gets humiliated, shouted at by his daughter, then made into a battery until he's a really handsome squished lemon.
This is so fucked. He's not catching a break, huh?
And my baby is only thinking about what Charlie is going to say to him for being so useless again, I'M- WORRY ABOUT YOURSELF, KING! YOU'RE LITERALLY A DOUBLE L RIGHT NOW!
Don't think I missed the fact we didn't get an onscreen apology for Lucifer after all this. Sure, it was technically done over text. But I wanted Lucifer to get a face-to-face reconciliation. Especially after this. Come on. He endured a lot of pain. Give him one scene of Charlie talking it out and acknowledging her mistakes.
Yeah, girl, your father is dying. Maybe get him to bed. Weird that everyone stands there, including Charlie, while he's still wincing in pain and barely clinging to consciousness after only just rushing to him.
Call me nitpicky, but it's weird that it feels like almost no one cares enough that Lucifer was just strapped to a machine and used to nearly bring down Heaven, and is obviously wrecked.
Like if that was a loved one of mine, I'd be glued to their hospital bed. Hell, I would carry them there if I had to. And possibly go to jail for going after the ones responsible. I don't know. I just kinda felt Lucifer's torture wasn't given enough weight by the characters involved. Narratively, it's fine.
It's just frustrating considering he's been through a lot and gotten little comfort.
