"mike should have had Holly's storyline" imo, nobody should have vanished in season 5; it was redundant, and the idea of "going full circle" was just cheap nostalgia bait. maybe an unpopolar opinion but i actually like the children in Camazotz/mindscape storyline, and the problem is not that it takes too much screentime; it doesn't take enough. For that kind of plot point, with that many characters and that much potential, it needed way more focus (a focus that wasn't only on holly) Of course there was the main cast who couldn't be left behind, so the result is a half-baked storyline that is closed way too fast, without any consequences (Holly gets hurt by her classmates and there isn't any resolution and what about the kids after vecna dies ? What about all of their trauma about a man who seemed kind and sweet and promised them to look after them in a time where they were all living an incredible anxious situation with their town in quarantine, and that same man is the moster himself ?) the solution, in my opinion, shouldn't have been "oh let's put mike here instead" but to scrap this entire storyline and work with what they already had (A LOT. they really didn't need a "vanish" to kick start the plot) The only problem maybe would have been Max alone in Camazotz without a second character to share the screen with, but i think it would have been fixable if Max, somehow, found the way to interact with people in Henry's memory (and we would have known more about him and his past for sure, instead of juggling pointlessly in holly's memories)
