Things to understand and realize about canon-era BATB and Stanley

1. 17th and 18th century (and even still to this day) France was very homophobic. Being homosexual was not only just "frowned upon", it was punishable by death.

2. Stanley is from a small village in the middle of southern France immediately after a period of war. He went to war. He has seen battle. He was no older than 12 while at war.

3. Stanley is by no means a virgin.

4. The term "gay" wasn't used. Infact, it was such a horrid thing to be homosexual that they didn't speak of such things. Terms like "confirmed bachelor" and such weren't even used until the 19th century. (Correct me if I'm wrong on that, but I'm pretty sure that's correct)

So in conclusion - Stanley was as closeted as they came in canon era threads. Incase anyone was wondering

I really feel like Stanley doesnt have a ton of fears most of them kind of leaving him after becoming detached from the idea of death but the idea of being left alone for all eternity kind of terrifies him. You know how it be like if the narrator left and he was left alone in silence yea that'd be bad. So lets answer with overwhelming loneliness and dread! 10/10 Fear im too lazy to do another ign edit.

💚 - Hes horrible at making decisions, terrible at it don't ask him what he want's ever if its something small and non consequential it's gonna take hours for an answer.

💖 - Stanley is extremely attached to his memories, especially ones of those he loves. So he's really good at remembering things you said you liked even if you've only said it once or twice!

Ah HM this is a tricky question. I think stanley likes to hide the part of him that doubts basically everything hes ever done in a sense of him not really believing his life before the office was real. which to be fair to the man it wasn't but he doesn't like to talk about his own insecurities at the end of the day they depress him immensely.
