Hell Lore w/ OC Examples!
Given the fact that I have a lot of demon OCs with lores of each of their own with their own personalized punishment it’d possibly be best if the Hell they live in is accustomed to it. So, how does the system work in Hell? What exactly inhabits Hell in the beginning? Hopefully what I’m writing will clear it all up to a degree!
In Hell, there are more ways to get to Hell than it is to go to Heaven. Hell has found this out over the centuries and decided there would be several degrees as to punishing the sinners. Each demon is
One degree shows to be more lenient with minor offenses/young people. Particularly the case of young sinners, they will get a chance to be reborn in Hell, giving them a greater chance for their personal redemption.
Example: Ectibod - Right at the split second of his murder, he had a slither of envy for his brother who, through misunderstanding of who they wanted to pick to live/kill, his brother got to live. Because of this sin, he got sent to Hell. Because of the circumstance of him being 7 years old, they allowed his soul to be reborn into a new being from the ground up.
From one extreme to another, there are the unmentionables. Conmen, Murderers, Dictators, Molesters and many like these will have their physical and spiritual self for either the Devil or higher-power demons for their personal use, no limits.
Example: Sutra - He holds an occupation in Hell that deals with the major offenders of Lust for “preperation” for some archdemon’s pastimes. (Honestly I won’t go into too much detail, it would be much too gruesome for this post alone.)
Now the in-between probably has the broadest criteria. In terms of someone living life of a particular sin, they can get a punishment that caters to the sin they commit (The individual could commit other sins during their life, it’s whichever is more predominant)
Example A: Gerard - Through the sin of Pride, he had to go through humility. An as narrow-minded as this sounds, the punishment the Devil placed on him was to wear traditionally female clothes. However, in a dress or not, his pride did not deter based on his looks, and somehow made him even more proud of himself because he can look good in ANY clothing. However over time he met many people not prideful in their looks, and upon meeting Tantise, he realised that there is so much more to himself than to looking good, and ended helping Tantise through her transition that both made her look the way she wanted and more confident. (Now he’s just prideful that he makes people look good, which I guess is a switch-up from being the other kind of jerk haha)
Example B: Boudicca - Now this is a bit of an unfair comparison to Gerard, since Boudicca died under the sin of Greed. She essentially lived her life wanting more and more money, despite the fact she’s the wife to a company owner during the Victorian Era. For her constant pursuit of money, she was punished to do labour work as a maid to a upper-class glutton demon (As of Yet Unnamed), to put her in the perspective of the maids she took for granted in her past life. Over the course of her being at the castle, hearing tales from other maids of escape only to wind back in the castle walls or recieve a grueling punishment from the head, she became a meek, shy maid who now doesn’t dare ask for more than she was given.
