i put off answering this for so long i’m so sorry

eden asuka masterpost (for now)

originally from louisiana, did some studying in japan

phd in religious history, fluent in english, spanish, and japanese

brought on as a consultant for a series of digs in peru on spanish monasteries in the colonial andes

met masao asuka at one of those digs, became Involved

they got eloped in peru

had a health crisis that required a hysterectomy, so they moved back to japan for the surgery and recovery and just taught at the university for a while before going back to peru

one of the students interning with the project got pregnant and didn’t want to keep the baby, so masao and eden adopted him. that’s ryo

died in a car accident caused by someone else when ryo was 13

all I could think about while reading chapter 4 of There is a Light was "waddup, I'm akira, I'm 16, and I never fucking learned how to read"

that is absolutely the correct interpretation of akira in “there is a light” and i commend you on your grasp of character
