OC Deep Dive: Ava Winters. Tagged by @toreadorcaretaker

What common/uncommon fear do they have? Ava's fear is being irrelevant, like most Toreador I'm sure. But the concept of being through so much trauma and pain to get where she is now, only to be replaced and tossed aside scares her, so she's constantly pushing herself to be someone.

Do they have any pet peeves? Yes. Poor imitations of her. If you're going to try and be like her, do it properly, otherwise its insulting. The last person who tried and ended up like a bargain bin version of her, ended up hand delivered to the Circulatory System. In fact. Imitations of her in general. She kicked a Tzimisce out of her club because they purposely changed their hair to the same colour as her own.

What are 3 items you can find in their bedroom? Four poster bed with deep red, silk drapes. Vanity table with drawers filled with jewellery boxes and gifts. Róisín's bed.

What do they notice first in a person? She tries to find their authenticity first before taking in anything else. She's been burnt too many times before that she simply just doesn't befriend anyone without spending ages being cautious. Seriously, if you're wanting to genuinely befriend any of my girls, Ava is hard-mode.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how high is their pain tolerance? Physically? She's a Masochist. She finds escapism within it, so I'd say maybe a good 8 or 9. Mentally... Between 7 and 8 depending what kind of night it is. As long as she can have time to herself afterwards to cry it out, she can take it well at the time.

Do they go into fight or flight mode when under pressure? (or freeze and fawn) She gives what she gets if she's certain she can do it. Otherwise she will allow it to pass, only to gain revenge in other ways.

What animal represents them best? A spoilt house cat. One of the fluffy white ones wearing a diamond collar, refusing to eat anything but Gourmet food, and will absolutely change their mind within a sniff. Quick to get the hackles up when in uncomfortable situations, but also the loudest purr when she's content.

How would a stranger likely describe them? "Scared to touch her, looks like she'll break. Or crease.. and I absolutely cannot afford to fix it."

Do they have any hobbies? Dancing (most styles), Burlesque obviously, Aerial Hoops & Silks, Pole, Singing.. Taking Róisín on long walks on her nights off!

Ava: Yes, most likely.

Bambi: Possibly. She's messy though, or forgetting something would be her downfall.

Evangeline: Absolutely not. She'd hand herself in.

Bambi; 5. How far is your OC willing to go to get what they want. Never as far to hurt innocents in the process. If some is going to get hurt who deserves it however, then it's fair game!

Ava; 12. Is your OC self-destructive? In what ways? Yes, accidentally. She doesn't learn from past actions as quickly as she probably should!

Evangeline; 20. Does your OC have a tendency to get Jealous? If so, how does it manifest? She doesn't, no. Sister Evangeline takes things as they are and feels no form of jealousy within her. That's not to say it won't reveal itself once the chronicle starts!

25. What is your favourite thing about your OC? Her development! She's gone from another Toreador with a pretty face with Presence, to Keeper of Elysium with secrets up her diamond encrusted sleeve.

20: Does your OC have a tendency to get jealous? If so, how does it manifest? Aha, yes. Yes she does. And it manifests in ways depending on whatever it is she's jealous about. Between pettiness, ruthlessness and just dropping it out of her life all together.

11. What is your OC's weapon of choice? Have they actually used it? Oblivion and Presence. On their own, together, in either order. 😌

3: What is your OC's fatal flaw? Are they aware of this flaw?

Ava: Ava constantly flies too close to the sun and bites off more than she chew, to the point she's been nicknamed "Icarus" behind her back. She is well aware of it, doesn't stop her though. She's been lucky so far. Also. She does that thing cats do where she wants one thing but then when she's given it, she has no interest anymore.

Sister Evangeline: At the moment, her flaw is her innocence. Such a thing in a world of darkness is used against a person. She's not fully aware how innocent she is but she knows she's closeted.

Bambi: Bambi doesn't think fully about things. She just.. does. As for being aware... Yes, and she tries to think about things more, but she just gets too excitable. Part of it is her personality, the other is her Brujah blood.

17. What is the worst thing you have put your OC through story-wise?

Ava: oh Ava has had so much trauma by the hands of men that she is walking Bahari bait. From her embrace alone to the constant issues from the Lasombra Sheriff that she struggles to keep herself away from.

Sister Evangeline: Little sister hasn't gone through too much yet other than Catholic guilt, but I'm sure that will change come January when the chronicle starts!

Bambi: Bambi hasn't gone through that much either, other than your typical sire issues! Though she's not officially in a chronicle to add trauma to her.
