Bio: Accustomed to being the family disappointment—which isn’t hard when your brother is so accomplished—Gavin is a bitter soul with a fragile ego and a short temper. Born and raised in Grand Haven, Michigan, his childhood is comfortable, if a bit detached. Wealthy parents, a prodigy brother, and a well-paid nanny most of his life makes for someone who does not connect well with people. His defense is his deflective personality, which generally drives most people away in a very short time. He leaves for college at 17 and moves himself to the Motor City to study criminal justice at Wayne State University. He doesn’t talk about his brother, who persumably disappeared at sixteen, but Gavin is cagey with the details.
A divorcee who’s husband left him for “someone who isn’t an emotionally stunted manchild”, the embittered detective often takes his various personal frustrations out on his coworkers who universally dislike him—but he is an excellent detective and gets results, so the chief is reluctant to let him go.
Appearance: Short, mildly wolfish, gray eyes, brown hair.
Personality: Rude, arrogant, insecure, and sharp. Gavin isn’t stupid and his sense of humor is a razor blade, but he’s played second fiddle to his brother all his life. He has very little patience, for anyone, and a short temper.
