I really like how Arcturus/The Searchlight turned out (both names can be used interchangeably)! I wanted to give Infinity a feeling of hopelessness and despair that I felt fit a planet like it- as it was the home of the cyber darkspore and riddled with pollution, after all.

Semi-redesign for Merak. I mostly just gave him a newer, cooler head and added some details.

Merak is full of himself and has an insane ego. Merak is the person behind the tragedy in Zelem's Nexus but refuses to acknowledge his past mistake. He's too angry at being tricked by Xylan and getting turned into a destructor to understand that he's still a really shitty person, and Volonde knows this! Volonde basically ragebaits him to the point of exploding

joateth skull structures can vary wildly among different individuals

the same goes for internal anatomy

joateth that have spent their childhood living in or by the sea will often have larger spleens, which allows them to produce more blood which in turn increases their breath capacity

coastal joateth often have poorer hearing due to pressure-related damage when diving. plus, they have some degree of webbing between their toes and fingers

joateth living in cold climates often look the exact same compared to regular joateth, the real difference is between the hatchlings! babies closer to the poles will often have longer fur coats + be a little chubbier to conserve heat

joateth babies are born with a reflex that causes them to rub against eachother when in groups to create heat from friction. this kept them alive when their parents weren't near them while hunting during their paleolithic era
