- “ are you sure this will work? ” the cat, white as snow, cautiously sniffs about the offerings before the altar. priscilla notes that everything being offered is white. in fact the familiar ponders how long her mistress has had these items. a porcelain vase painted with pale pink blooms holds a small bouquet of daisies, white roses, babies breath, and a single white lily. a dozen shards of quartz ( both clear and milky in colour ) are positioned around the vase. on the human’s lap rests a silver tray. on it rests her finest bone china. these delicate dishes were willed to her by her grandmother... the previous tenant of this tiny cottage. null have spent all day baking a cake. vanilla bean, with home made frosting. decorated with silver sugar and tiny confectionery pearls.
- “ i’m not sure... i hope so. i have read damballah does enjoy these things. ” gingerly the tray is placed just before the circle of crystals. “ there is only one way to find out. let us begin. ”
from across the room the great black beast stirs, careful eyes watching the witch light a series of white beeswax candles before positioning them about the offered vase. she draws a small glass vial of salt and pours a small circle on the floor. it would protect her if things went awry. or, that was the hope. null had never attempted to communion with a greater being before. the woman, garbed in a white cotton dress, feels a wave of anxiety swell within her. with a deep breath, it is smothered; now was not the time to quit.
slowly she sits.
sitting, waiting patiently beside the witch is her wand. hewn from white wood and adorned with crystals - it had been something null had crafted herself. this wand channeled her inner magick. a powerful tool that never left her side. drawing it close to her bosom null offers a soft and humble prayer.
