How to make Turkish peshtemal towels more absorbent?
Peshtemal is made from 100% Turkish cotton. Turkish cotton has long fibres and it is these fibres that make peshtemal so absorbent. To make your peshtemal absorbent, you need to soak it in cool water overnight when you first purchase it. This will allow the cotton fibres to bloom and become softer and more absorbent. In the morning, wring the peshtemal and allow it to air dry completely before you wash it at 30°C. without using any fabric conditioner or bleach.
