Via Dolphin's Point of view SeaWorld is preparing everyone for the likely outcome - for what it's worth, it's amazing Tilikum has lived this long (he is approximately 36, which is average for a free-ranging male orca). I don't attribute that to anything SeaWorld has done (since Dawn Brancheau died, his care has been as "hands-off" as possible and I'm sure he has been confused by the change in his treatment), but rather to Tilikum's own constitution. The entire situation with Tilikum is and always has been sad and unnecessary - he experienced the trauma of capture from the wild; his early life had a strong and negative impact on him (being bullied by his tankmates and held for hours every night in a steel kennel at Sealand of Victoria); the corporation that has held him for 24 years values spin more than truth; he has killed three people.
