So much for escape - that icy chill down his spine turning to full fledge frozen fear upon the tight grip on his helmet. If he didn’t know his own sturdiness Reg probably would have been afraid she could simply crush his skull with a mere squeeze. Though the imagery certainly did cross his mind either way. A small blush of shame crossed his face for a moment knowing he had just caused offense towards someone of a higher status - though he really did manage to do that quite often when it came to Ozen, considering her irredeemable personality.
– ❮ S-Sorry, Ozen! It’s just- ❯
– ❮ Riko went to go gather everything together before we left, and I want to make sure she hasn’t forgotten anything. Or decided to take something that’s not ours. ❯
It was a valid excuse, not the entire reason he wanted to leave the room but he definitely wasn’t going to admit out loud that Ozen scared him a little.
Ozen turned the boy around with her wrist, and doubled down to stare into his eyes. She sincerely hoped the brat was lying to her, just so it would give her reason to smack him into the wall, as their duel had been cut short by the arrival of those pesky bandits. But alas, the brat was starting to learn of how to best navigate around her. He appeared far too jittery to be fabricating stories right to her face.
How disappointing. He actually seemed like a good kid now that she took the time to look.
“What is there to gather? You didn’t arrive with extraneous cargo, and I’m sure even a Red Whistle know to take inventory when making a trip of no return.” She let go of his helmet, but bore forward, advancing upon him to back him into the wall.
“Do I frighten you, boy?” She smiled, a low chuckle rumbling within her chest. “How will you battle the wild beasts of the Netherworld and rescue the damsel if even a human can terrify you?”
